Looking forward to the second set of regional rankings today. Will HSU Love Up? Should be telling.

This weekend... I think ETBU will make it interesting. In 16, Heston had a fumble recovery rumble for a TD, and the offense played well. The thing about the offense is this, we haven't had an OLine that has been top notch in years. The fact that's a Markeith had over 1,000 yards last year is unbelievable. This year, the OLine and RBs are playing so well, and while it seems that TJ has taken a step back this year, he's dropped some balls that were typically caught in the past, there are other weapons that make the O so much better. Finally, on the defensive side, Raylon and Jefferson roaming the secondary has really solidified a revamped defense. I look for them to have a big day, especially of Cole can't go at CB.

I'll be checking in from the deer lease this weekend. Glad to have this opportunity to be with my family. Go Cru!

Really, really incredible stuff.  Boggles the mind that a D2 transfer playing 15 games on a national runner up team was able to grind out 1,000 yards.  Nobody thought it was possible, and yet boom.  1,000 yards.

Sadly, I firmly believe had we kept the offensive scheme from last year —which was similar to Walden's from a few years back, we would at worst be 8-1 at this point. Consistency and sustained drives have been an issue for ETBU all season. If you look at stats the drop-off doesn't seem drastic, but we almost exclusively score on big plays. You know who doesn't give up a lot of big plays? ANY above average defense. We were completing close to 70% of passes last year, and this year is close to 50%. Our defense, although they give up points, has actually played pretty good all season other than the UW Platt. game. Really hope coaches gameplan some easy quick action plays, bc I'm assuming we won't have any time to throw, and running has been weak all year. We have the talent, which is why I think we still have a shot to make it a game Saturday.

From the deer lease?  Seriously, you are missing the last regular season game.  There will be deer next year, but this is the last regular season game for the 2018 CRU who hope to go to Shenandoah!

Where are your priorities?     ;)

Thanks for pointing that out. I think most around the team who followed them weekly know that our offense wasn't great and that our OLine hasn't been what it historically had been. Those things have changed. That's all I'm saying.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I know. My wife said she would go and I could travel with the Crunatics to Marshall, but I need to go hunt with them. I'll make the playoff games, and I'll have my phone to get updates.

So as I understand it, she would go hunting for you, so you would not  miss a CRU game?

Do you know how lucky you are?  I think that you should take her up on the offer.

She could keep the other guys in line and file a complete report on the guys for their spouses!  LOL

I won't be there either. For some reason my wife would rather me not spend 12hrs away from the family on one of my 2 days at home. She said I could go, but she can't so I guess I'll watch at the Beltonian and spend some time with the fam.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I thought there was No redshirt in D3.  Is a medical redshirt allowed?

3 games or 30% of games which ever is greater. Interesting thing is if HSU plays one playoff game he qualifies because he only played in first qr of the 4th game. 🤔🤔🤔🤔

No, it's one-third, and it rounds up, and it only counts the regular season. But that means that someone who played in four games of a 10-game regular season qualifies for a medical hardship.

Yes. It is allowed. It has happened numerous times. It basically gives them an extra year of eligibility.

From NCAA.org:

Redshirt: In Divisions I or II, redshirting refers to someone who is enrolled full-time at a school, but does not play for an entire academic year for the sole purpose of saving a season of competition. A redshirt does not play in any college games or scrimmage in a given sport for an entire academic year, even though that student is otherwise eligible. If you do not play in a sport the entire academic year, you have not used a season of competition. However, if you play in even one second of a game as a college student-athlete, you are not a redshirt. Redshirting does not exist in Division III because if you play or practice after your first opportunity to compete, you are charged with a season of participation.

I think we are using the term redshirt incorrectly, because on the surface you are basically getting the same result (an extra year).  I do not know the correct term exactly (medical hardship), but there is a way to gain an extra year of eligibility due to medical reasons.  I am not sure of the number of games played that would exempt you, but I know a couple of athletes personally that have been able to do that because of an injury.

Should I feel as nauseous about the second RR as I do???  I don't pretend to understand it AT ALL, but for some reason I feel like it is a lot worse for HSU this week.

I think the Hanover win is defenitely helping Centre, if Hanover were to lose, that will help HSU. Also, Berry plays a good Trinity team and has a good possibility of losing that one, which would drop Centre. If I am you guys you root for both Hanover and Berry losses or a Centre loss altogether.

Even if things stay as they are now, HSU has a good chance to get in. If the chalk holds, you'd expect John Carrol/ Baldwin Wallace winner to be in, followed by the Bethel/ St Thomas winner, and then Centre. After that, HSU has two chances to get in, and I think they get in over Wabash/Wittenberg or Linfield or an 8-2 Salisbury.

Any chance that an 8-2 TLU sneaks into the bottom of the South ranking if Thomas More loses? Selfishly looking to get HSU a win over an RRO here.

I would think if both RMC and TMU lose TLU will sneak in, but that's just a guess. Could be Maryville also.
