Now that is awe-full! McM is having a good year.

This may have been addressed already and I missed it but is the NCAA forcing McM to change the mascot? I'm a grad of Midwestern in Wichita Falls and we had to change from the Indians to the Mustangs. Southeastern Oklahoma had to change from the Savages to the Savage Storm. Does McM have to change? Just curious as it has been very contraversial.

I read in the Austin paper Mack Brown, head football coach, was given a raise to $2,500M per year. In the same paper, the newley elected President of the University of Texas was given a contract of $525M annually. Head football coach is making 4.76 times more than the university president, according to my calculations. Interesting.

We can use the Indian mascot until all appeals are exhausted.

The football team makes something like $4 to 6 million dollars per home game, plus put $17 million into the Austin economy. I would say Mac Brown deserves every penny he makes. And I'm not sure, but I think that the football team pays its own way.

Glad to see that McM appealed. As an alumni I wish that MSU would have done the same thing. Good for McMurry.

No I didn't. I wish I had -- they won a couple of conference championships back then. I was married right out of high school so I kissed any dreams of playing college football good bye at that time. (I played high school ball at Arlingon Martin but was relegated to back up receiver, only got in if we were way ahead or behind or when the coach was tired of me begging on the sideline

) Didn't go back to college until my early 20's and by that time I had to work full time.

My son who is a HSU Cowboy has no idea how lucky he is to just have to go to college. No job, no wife, no kids, he has the life right now. Of course most of them never know how lucky they are until its over or its gone. Just praying everyday that he completes his degree so that he can get a good job in coaching.

HSU could quite possibly have a Reggie Bush, Lindale White combo in the back field next year. T-ash and Q could bring a one-two punch in the backfield. Just something to talk about.

UMHB has to find a safety to replace Rojo and theword around the campfire that they found one. Their defense could be even better next year.

lets just say t-ash's 4.24 40 yd dash and I think Q ran a 4.4 range, and if both stay healthy, it could be on. HSU has an exciting schedule with a lot of games in Abilene this year. Hopefully we can rebound this season. Lots of expectations as normal, this season.

I had a guy from a Highschool board tell me that HSU landed a LB from Gainesville. He graduated two years ago and has been out of football. Missed playing and is heading to HSU. He would have been on the state championship team they had if this is true.

So hard to get any information on DIII.

minni - lubbock is just a small trip. Though I do always enjoy my time there. That backfield does sound pretty fast. Who was maning that stop watch. I'm sure it wasn't slingin sam shields. That guy didnt need a clock. He could look at ya and tell if you were fast.

News alert - Skidz has moved to division 2 status. Not only was he the best GA in D3, now he has moved up to be the best GA in D2. Is there anything this man can't do?
