This has to be one of the best Sunday mornings this year in the lives of Crusader fans.
Congratulations.

Fun to watch even though the chippy stuff bothered me during the game.

Typical for a Mount Union game versus anybody else.  I am still stunned over the UMHB "personal foul" flag that was thrown for nothing.  That was inexcusable.

Now that the 2018 season is finished and in the books has anyone heard any more if Shenandoah is going to host the 2019 Stagg Bowl? I know there were some reports that the City of Shenandoah didn't realize everything that was involved hosting the Stagg Bowl, but some of the key players who were the major players to bring the Stagg Bowl to Shenandoah are no longer working for the City of Shenandoah. From what I can tell the attendance was the best since 1994, so Texas pulled through and allowed for great optics for the ESPN cameras.

Thoughts?

The city of Shenandoah didn't exactly do itself a lot of favors at the start of this process but from everything that is publicly available the only problems were minimal and I would say everything went great. Things could change but the PA announcer did say that the game would be back in 2019.

Crazy long lines trying to get into the stadium.

Concession and bathroom lines really long.

Concessions did not account for the amount of people and ran out of food.

I wonder if the press box side of the stadium could have accommodated more people but ESPN wanted us to be opposite of the press box.

Sucked to have the presentation opposite of the home crowd. ESPN can be thanked for that!

D O.C.

To top it off, we only get 3.8% of the advertising revenue?
Is that how it goes?

We actually had the ARC head of officials (the conference where the game crew is from) in our press box during the game.  He told us that the play drew a flag because the tackle was made with the defender's hands up in the head/neck area and not because it was late our out of bounds.  Even though it wasn't particularly violent, defenders have to stay away from that head/neck area.  I agree that it's a tough call to go against UMHB there, but player safety is going to win out every time.

So you can't tackle by the shoulder pads?

Perhaps I have too low of expectations in this area but most of those problems are standard issue problems of a facility that is sold out. Even if they had put us on the true home side, we most likely would have sold that side out as well since the a good number of UMHB fans ended up over there anyway and we would have had the same problems over there.

I agree on the trophy presentation but like Ralph said it looked great to have a packed house behind the guys.

Just reporting what was said by the professional rules guy sitting next to me Friday night, TT.  They apparently saw hands in the neck/head area.  It's difficult to say for sure where 25's right hand is during that throw down.

You should be able to access the full game at Watch ESPN (app or in our web browser).  I'm not sure how long they keep games available there, but I was rewatching parts of the game last night.

What a great game to cap off a great season.  I'm so glad I was able to witness it in person.  That's one less thing on my bucket list!

Have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone.

Thanks for the clarification, but that guy is simply covering for a bad call.  The player was grabbed by his both of his shoulder pads at the shoulder which in no way was a grab in the head or neck area.  I know you are just passing it on, but that was simply the worst call I have seen all season.

Got the replay...thanks!  Just noticed the MU players giving the "horns down" sign after their first touchdown.  Not sure what that is supposed to mean.  That would be like the UMHB players disrespecting Ohio State when they score.  Kind of funny.
