Not a good idea to poke an already salty program. Some former HSU players I guess have made shirts mocking the ncaa decision to vacate the titles.
For one, your in belton and not only in belton but at HOCO as well meaning a good number of returning alumns will be there. Some could say that is may knock down the drive of the team on the field, from my experience, it goes the other way. Mocking a program could be detrimental to the outcome for HSU.

That's just not very smart.

"ETBU and Howard Payne could be another really interesting game.  HPU is much improved this year and ETBU is coming off a tight game vs. McMurry.  Not sure if ETBU was off or if McMurry is beginning to respond to the new staff and approach.  ETBU should probably be favored, but I think it can go either way."

HPU is without their starting QB this week.  Starting their punter at QB (was #3 QB early in the year) this week.  Their offense actually looked good and moved the ball last week against TLU when he was in.

Here's a screen grab of the shirt.

The Subaru thing is actually kinda funny. One thing that makes college rivalries fun. Claiming to be champions after physically losing on the field of play is silly though.

That's also just not how it works.  Vacating wins is not the same as forfeiting or overturning results.  HSU aren't ASC champions any more than UW-Oshkosh are the 2016 national champions.

Interesting that there is nothing on the ASC website regarding the AA vacating these wins, and the list of championships (https://static.ascsports.org/custompages/ASC_Chart_of_Champions.pdf) also has not been updated.

But the t-shirts are silly.

Interesting article how some schools choose to ignore the NCAAs requirement to return trophies, remove banners, etc. The examples are pretty low profile sports though.

While the NCAA doesn't re-award vacated titles, there are some sports that do. I watch the Tour de France every year and when the champions in 2006 (Landis) and 2010 (Contador) popped for performance enhancing drugs shortly after race, the titles were stripped and given to the runners up.

Speaking about PEDs, I'm curious why the NCAA wouldn't vacate wins for teams that have players that pop for PEDs in random pee tests (e.g. Clemson last year as one of many). Seems a lot worse and game changing than loaning out an old car.

Yeah, saw that on twitter.  Dude got roasted by former UMHB players.  Let's just say that he never played very well vs the Cru...

I'd probably guess that they won't remove them until the appeals process is completed (I believe it was Pat who said the same thing about the D3Football.com records as well).

I wouldn't poke fun at the situation. However, as an outsider, it quite funny. However, it would have been much funnier if they had a 'W' in the most recent column. Nevertheless, as with any other year, looking for both teams playing some good football.

umhb2001

I have let Subaru USA and Subaru UK know that the logo and emblem were used to create these shirts. Wonder if they were asked about the rights?  ;D
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

GLAD2BCOWBOY

It's fun, it's college football rivalry. I wouldn't have done it because it give the Cru motivation they probably don't need. But again it's fun. They did it, UMHB players hammered him on Twitter. Again all in fun. You can't tell me UMHB players wouldn't have done something similar to a rival in a similar situation. Let's all laugh at it and enjoy the game today.  Who cares if Subaru is worried about 30 T-shirt's hell its probably more marketing noise than they normally get in Texas the land of "big trucks" and SUVs
Hooyah Cowboys!

The Cru is 20-6 All Time and have won 20 of the last 22 matchups.

Mic Drop

Should be another good game, I wonder which Cru team shows up today.

GLAD2BCOWBOY

That's why it's a rival and fun 😀
