I thought that this was a rebuilding year for UMHB. They had to fill so many positions in the Top 44 or 66 that had been filled with Juniors and Seniors in the past.

There is a big difference between 18 & 19 year olds and 21 and 22 year olds.

Congratulations to UMHB for a great season and a great undefeated run. In the last few years, UWW has experienced the same sort of ending to the season. The beauty is, stick with it and good things will come.
It took a herculean effort by UWW to defeat UMHB today. It is rare for any team to play a truly complete game, UWW did today.
Well there is the old saying, to be the best you have to face the best, no doubt UW-W is the best. That team, if they play this way through 2019 I would expect to see them in Shenandoah, which Hell, I'll plan on going down if UW-W is in Stagg. I actually enjoyed the game from watching the D do their work, wasn't thrilled with the O line but to watch the athleticism UW-W brought was excellent to see (just wished it wen a different way...but that's the game)
Lots of respect Warhawks, stay healthy!

I don't mind losing. I just don't like losing the same way. Historically, we have not been very crafty on offense. This showed again.

No option with Poorman or Bowden.

No quick slants across the middle.

No HB screen.

How you can not do quick routes when the pressure is so great and quick is beyond me.

How do you leave Poorman on the sideline??? This is like leaving Garrett Cole in the bullpen. Come on!

If you know the QB is injured and that we have inexperienced OLine, then make a change! How is this not understood?

It blows my mind.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

SW66

WW played 2 deep safeties to prevent Jonell Reed from going deep on them but we never ran any curl routes or seam routes or stop routes. We never ran jet sweeps or any misdirection of any sort. I am still stumped on the game plan and play calling from the coaches. We need to get out there and recruit some size and speed this off season and Coach Lee really needs to reevaluate his offensive scheme or teams are just gonna prepare for us by filling the box and making us throw whether we want to or not. When was the last time we had a first team all americam lineman at UMHB? Zone blocking and zone reads by a qb that has no chance of running is not fooling anyone.

Does anybody have a link to the postgame presser? If so, will you please share?
Thanks.

I hope Luke Poorman enjoys the Holidays.
I hope he gets his Bachelors the 2020 calendar year.
I am thinking he made the right choice transferring to UMHB. He's got a ring and his team lasted to the quarters.

What was his contribution? Or was he just a tag-a-long?  Honest question!   ???   :o

When Luke got hurt last year, he had won the starter position from Jase. He would have been a better option this game in my opinion. He completed 70+ percent of his passes with 8 tds on only 78 attempts with no interceptions.  This may just be my perception, but he was one hell of a worker and gave 100 percent on every play. That is the one thing that always drove me nuts about Jase is how he would just stand there on play fakes and stuff.

Yep, you lose talent like we lost from last year and expect to do that well. I really hope we get Aaron Sims back next year. Our special teams really hurt us a lot this year. We had 10 fewer punt returns for td than last year...

Thanks for sharing the link Etch. I thought I was pretty good at searches but I came up empty.
I was a bit surprised to hear Coach Pete speak of a lack of replacement depth. I know UMHB had injuries to deal with, I've always envisioned a roster full of guys that could step in.

The start of the year was a shocker to me. Expected to return 3 of our receivers and one transferred, one was suspended 5 games (and then tore his acl in practice) and the other (Jonel Reed) was hurt. Our offensive line returned a good number of guys but a lot got hurt. Ended up starting 3 freshmen against whitewater I think.

Not the outcome we were hoping for but a good season either way.  This loss reminded me of the 2017 loss to Mount Union in the Stagg Bowl. They T'd off on Jase all game and the game plan never changed. Same thing Mount did in 2017. You have an immobile QB and an inexperienced O-line and you leave the guy back there to get ate up. The 4 plays before the half sealed that game. It was over after that. Valiant effort by the Defense. But you cant leave the defense on the field for 43 minutes and expect them not to give up points. I wonder when the last time UMHB finished a game with -3 total rushing yards. Congratulations to the Seniors. 56-2 record is very impressive. GO CRU!!

Jase wasn't on the 2017 team.  That was Carl Robinson III----------he was only a freshmen.  Great arm but stood in the pocket too long.  UWW pounded UMHB's defensive line.  Poor play calling by Coach Lee and poor decision making by Fredenburg------------he knew Jase was hurt but wanted him to stay in.  They needed someone more mobile in there that wasn't going to sit there and hold the dang ball all day.  I thought the 3 freshmen lineman did a fantastic job especially considering such a big game.  When an offense can get 4-5 yds every time they run the ball, you need to make adjustments---UMHB did not make any.  Moving Jeffereson Fritz screwed the defense.  Was at a loss as to why they didn't start Mikah Hackett---------dude is a beast and has played some great football.  2 picks for TD's in a game, fast on run support.  Poor coaching in this game by UMHB.

I knew Jase wasn't the QB in 2017. I was referring to the defensive game plan being much the same. Pressure the QB and make him run for his life. Atleast Carl could scramble. Either way the offense was shutdown. No adjustments were ever made to put the QB in a better position to make a play. He was a sitting duck ripe for the picking.

I wonder if Hackett got hurt.  Fritz actually bounced between Safety and Linebacker several times in that first series.  Hackett managed to get some tackles the first series but didn't see him in any of the logs for the remainder of the game.
