It did not. D-III announced a change to the minimum number of contests for 2020-21, but not the maximum.

Let's hope we are no where near the minimum which is 5, talk about madness trying to figure out a way to divide 32 playoff spots over 250 teams who played only 5ish games.

I don't think we'll have to worry about that in a conference made up of Texas/southern schools, but it could definitely pose a problem for some schools on the east and west coasts.... and the People's Republik of Michigan.  ;)

Saw that Texas Football announced their All-Texas Small College Team which featured a number of ASC players, none were that surprising but I thank Texas Football for putting in the effort.

The surprising part was the note by HSU RB Bryson Hammonds name who was named one of the 2 RBs which indicated that he had given up football in the off season. Hammonds had a down year last year but was amazing in 18 and with the Cowboys losing Hemphill as well that is a lot of yardage lost in their backfield.

I saw a tweet last week that had a preseason poll on the ASC.  I think the ranking was from Dave Campbell's Texas Football but not sure.  Anyway, top 4 were:

1.UMHB
2.HSU
3.TLU
4.Howard Payne

Can't remember after that.

If HPU goes from 2-28 from 2016-2018 to 4th place in 2020 than Coach Harris should be a shoe in for Coach of the Year.

Also will be interesting to see if TLU can keep up the momentum and stay ahead of HSU in the final standings as they did last year, Keith McMillan put out a Top 25 which included TLU and not HSU so it will be fun to see how the main D3 poll separates those teams.

Only 78 days till we can kickoff, here is hoping that we get to.

A little bored so I decided to take a look at the top ten teams accumulative records since 2010----only since 2010.  Might surprise a few folks.  This is just overall wins/loss records(Championship appearances listed are not just since 2010)

1.  Mount Union------138-8...................21 Championship appearances with 13 wins
2.  UMHB--------------128-9...................4 Championship appearances with 2 wins
3.  UWW---------------123-12-------------10 Championship appearances with 6 wins
4.  St. Thomas--------108-16..................2 Championship appearances with 0 wins
5.  North Central------104-18..................1 Championship appearance with 1 win
6.  Wesley------------103-23
7.  John Hopkins-----100-17
8.  Linfield--------------97-16...................1 Championship appearance with 1 win
9.  Wheaton-----------95-17
10.  Wartburg----------90-22

Anyone surprised with the results?  Thinking there is someone missing?

Yes!  Must point out------------this does not include any teams that do not participate in NCAA championships.  Pat, I know how methodical you are and I could sense that you might have asked because you were thinking of a team or two from the NESCAC. ;D This list does not include any of those teams.  If my list is wrong, please feel free to add insight.  I was just going by past records listed on the sight over last 10 yrs.

I was thinking St. Johns would be there but according to what I counted, they were sitting at around 88 wins I believe.

Caught a mistake------Del Val would be in spot 10 bumping out Wartburg

Del Val 94-22 at #10 above Wartburg

UMHB loses appeal, must vacate title:  https://www.d3football.com/notables/2020/06/umhb-appeal-denied-must-vacate-title

This article mentions a self-imposed "two year probation period for the football team" - probation from what?  If it's postseason play, would it start now that the appeal process has been exhausted?

Pat Coleman

Probation is only probation -- it's not a postseason ban. But other infractions while on probation would be expected to bring harsher penalties.
