Melek Hamilton is in the transfer portal...UMHB RB unit already lacking depth, this just adds to it.

As for seniors, Kadarius Daniels is not coming back and I believe Gary Ruckman and Glenn Thornton are also not coming back. They were honored prior to the last game of the season this spring (senior day). Of course, things can always change...based on what Fritz had told the media throughout the season, and the references he kept making to the fall, I am pretty certain he will be returning.

UMHB fans, sorry to hear of the loss of Ray Martin.

Ray was a great man who did so much for UMHB and for anyone that needed help along the way.

Thought some of you would be interested to see Coach Pete was interview by SicEm 365 to talk about his time with Coach Teaff but mainly they talked about UMHB.

Saw a report on Twitter that former ETBU football coach Ralph Harris has passed away.  Harris was the architect of the ETBU football program's revival from 1999-2005.  Prayers to his family, friends, and former players.

Thanks for sharing this. Interesting that Coach Fred said all seniors except Sellers and Daniels are returning. I know that there was at least four seniors recognized on the field prior to the LC game, so I'm guessing that those guys just hadn't yet made a decision but have decided to return.

Looks like D3fb has announced their national top 25 teams for spring 2021.  They have: 1) Mount Union  2) UMHB  3) Hardin-Simmons.  I'm a die-hard Cru fan, but I've gotta say that I can't argue with them at all...

OK, thanks.   Usually the term d3fb (when used here) implies the D3football.com folks.   ITH is independent of D3football.com and focuses on the East Region.  ITH's Frank Rossi is good people.

For any defensive junkies out there Coach Harmon was part of the Keep Your Pads Down podcast recently. Pretty deep dive into formations and a lot of X's and O's talk if you like that sort of thing.

Also former UMHB player Tony Salazar was a guest recently as well as Zach Wilkerson of HSU in July of last year.

Former UMHB football player Reggie Cole is getting another shot at football, just joined the Linemen of the Spring League. Their games are on Fox Sports 1 and 2 so you might be able to see him and some other D3 guys if you want to tune in.

His coach is none other than Hal Mumme, a man whose resume must be 100 pages by now.

I see that James Bell, safety for Texas Lutheran, has entered the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.  He's a 4-time All-ASC player and the best defensive back in the conference not named Fritz.  Somebody is gonna get a heckuva player for one season.

Also Dedrick Strambler of HSU entered the transfer portal a couple weeks back, so a couple of the better DBs in the conference will be on the move.

And speaking of transfer portal Caleb Eagans announced he was staying in the conference and heading to ETBU. Wouldn't be surprised if the DBs mentioned end up staying in conference as well since they only have 1 year of eligibility left.

Ron Boerger

Strictly speaking, do D3 players even have to enter the portal if they want to transfer to another D3 school, or is the reason for doing so to make it known that you're "on the market" and increase your visibility to D3 as well as possibly scholarship schools?
