A complete debacle in the first half. How in the world do you show up (or NOT show up) to the biggest game of the year totally unmotivated and unprepared?

Team doesn't look interested

The half-time band is good.  Although I do have to laugh at the few unfortunates who look like they are still 16.  The first year to two in college can be brutal.

Wow. Worse umhb defense I've seen since 1998. Same on umhb running game. Very surprised.

Looks like UMHB is waking up. A lot of game remaining!

Looks like Pete lit a fire in them at the half

umhbalum

Wow 28-28. Just imagine if they would have shown up in the first half

This is the cru that hsu is use to seeing

UMHB03

Wow, what an incredible turnaround in the second half. This team is unstoppable when it's focused. I wish they hadn't needed a 21 point deficit to wake them up, but I'll take it.

It's sad to see that Hardin-Simmons didn't seem to have a problem taking the cheap shots, like all those unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. But, I give credit to Hardin-Simmons for coming to the game ready to play that's more than what can be said for The Cru in the first half. I hope that whatever Coach Fred said to the team at halftime sticks with the team for the rest of the season.

Congrats Cru. Hopefully we can see a rematch in second or third round in the playoffs. Where do you think HSU goes in ranking? I think they should be 7 ,8, or 9. Probably drop them to 12 though.

Saw the same cheap shots from the other side though. Commentators were quick to ignore those.

Zip mention the unsportsmanlike conduct of HSU. Not dissing umhb(best team won)  but I saw alot of after the play cheap shots that umhb that the refs ignore or let go. There were a few questionable calls( roughing the punter in first half and wr going out of bounds and back in to get a third down conversation). The best team won, but don't act like it was only close because HSU played dirty. It was a great game that I saw two amazing teams give it their all emotionally and physically.

This is a good take. Only chumps blame the refs in any game. Great effort from both teams, and we get another classic in this rivalry. As bad as we looked in the second half, we still had a shot to win the game in the last minute. Now it's time to take care of business against a solid ETBU team next week. Here's hoping we get another shot in November.

My observation, overall, UMHB is more talented but that doesn't always mean the better team on a given day. I'm not saying the gap of talent is huge but I do believe overall UMHB is the more talented team. That being said, what I watched today was a very talented HSU team more hungry and ready to play today, particularly the 1st half.

I don't think HSU changed in the second half, I think they were still the same hungry and talented team but UMHB finally decided to show up in the 2nd half.

umhb2001

Wow. What a game. I got to be on the sideline for the first time, and the attitude the guys had just wasn't one of urgency. They really were sluggish. That intensity was there in a big way coming out of the locker room at half.

HSU played the best I've seen them all year. We played the worst first half I've seen since we played, I think, Chapman or Linfield in the first round of the playoffs a few years ago. Then we turn around and play an incredible second half.

Congrats Cowboys on a great game. The Cru are going to have to wake up and feel that intensity from here on out.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
