I don't understand conference issues, politics and other items but why would the SAA not want another team? Or maybe it is they just would not want Belhaven; if so why?

I looked and they currently have 8 football schools so 1 more would make only 1 non conference game.  Is that good or bad?

The SAA is very determined to have schools of a certain academic reputation and inclination. Belhaven does not fit what they consider "peer" institutions.

Putting together rankings where major criteria was to already have ranked teams didn't make much logical sense either. I prefer this method.

This reason why they're doing this makes sense to me, but I wish they would have taken this step last week and then given us two full weeks of ordered rankings.  We'll make it work though!

Goes perfect with a playoff bracket without seeds.

Tomorrow's game between UMHB and HPU might just be the best on this week's ASC slate. It will be very interesting to see how UMHB's defense counters against a very solid passing attack from HPU. Though it is important to note that HPU has not looked very good in its last two games, losing to both Belhaven and HSU. ASC's top passing offense and top passing defense collide in Belton tomorrow.

These stats tell the story to me.

Look who is tops in sacks given up and who is tops in sacks made. Could be a long day for HPU.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Refs completely lost control of the game at the end of the first half of the umhb game...

Didn't get a chance to watch the Cru today but based on score it looks like it was a blowout.

I was expecting to see a close score, did the Cru show up today or did HPU not play as well as thought?

I think HPU was just not that good. They got a running start at the season feasting on weaker teams, but when faced with better competition they've lost 3 straight by increasing amounts to increasingly better teams. Their first 6 games were against teams averaging 3 wins... the only one above .500 is ETBU. So they are 1-3 against the only winning teams they've faced.

Well, the Cru let Howard Payne get to a 14-0 lead and then the defense shut them down. Howard Payne's defense has always been rather suspect but their air raid style offense was what carried them through the first few games. Once they hit the teams that had better defenses things changed...

There were a lot of extracurriculars going on with Brenton Martin getting an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the first quarter (although, it seemed like the referees missed a corner throwing a punch at him on one of UMHB's first offensive possessions). I think it really started to get out of hand when Jake Parker taunting the UMHB secondary (primarily Jefferson Fritz) right before Howard Payne threw another pick. As time expired in the half Howard Payne put a late hit out of bounds on KJ Miller and it was on... The referees were really slow to get over there and next thing you know both teams were pushing and shoving on the Howard Payne sideline.

What happened?

Your QB #2 went 21-28 for 307 yards and rushed for another 98 yards. Hey CRU your QB#2 just went off today!  Kj miller then had 12 receptions on the day which is a new school record.
Your defense just took care of the number #1 rushing offense last week and the number #1 passing offense in the conference this week. We fell behind today and our offense then managed to score 59 unanswered points and 616 yards of offense against a 6-2 much improved howard payne squad! You now have 2 very good quarterbacks going into tbe playoffs!

Thats what just happened!  Playoffs should be exciting!
