This is an excellent strategic move by Muhlenberg.
A win over UMHB and an undefeated season, then the Mules make the case for 4 home games in the playoffs.
Playing UMHB close will also be a good "Result" versus a Regionally Ranked Opponent.

FWIW, Muhlenberg is in R2 now. Albeit, doesn't change anything. Yet, the way the committee is set up, a loss by Muhlenberg may drop them from a clear #1/2 seed in R2 to #4/
#5 seed, just by having a loss, regardless if UMHB is ranked #1 in all of D3.

You would be replacing a TCNJ (3-6, .333) with UMHB (10-0, 1.000).

Muhlenberg's numbers were:

OWP (rank)        .4719 (160)
OOWP                .4943
NCAA SOS          .479

If anyone missed it, former UMHB DB Reggie Cole has re-signed with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats after being cut last summer:

Hmmm.....

Really impressive honor for Kyle. Well-deserved too. Excited to see how he does in his last college season this fall. Cool side note-Jarrett Doege is one of the Manning Passing Academy QBs this year...who mentored and coached him as a freshman at Bowling Green? New UMHB OC/QBs Andy Padron, who will be coaching Kyle this fall.

Looks like Muhlenberg week one and still no game for week two or week nine for the Cru. Maybe they can work some miracle and get a game before the season starts. Maybe we could play HSU a second time since we both have a hard time getting opponents, as that could only strengthen our SOS for our region. Just a thought.

I was wondering.  When I called and bought season tickets a bit ago they said they would ship a copy of the schedule with the tickets and that it was online.  Still not online yet though :-(.

Yea, the schedule I got when I picked up my tix says open/TBD so i figure they are still looking.

Week 2 non-conference D 3 with  options for UMHB
Brockport, Christopher Newport,Depauw,Ohio Wesleyan,Rhodes,St.John Fisher,St.John's, UW- Eau Claire, UW-Whitewater and Wittenberg.
Other options include NAIA teams or D2 teams but I suspect they want a D 3 game.

Christopher Newport, DePauw, Ohio Wesleyan, and Wittenberg all have 10 game schedules published for 2022 so they're out.

Thanks Etchglow. Good to know. Down to Brockport, Rhodes, St John Fisher, St. Johns , and the two UW teams Eau Claire and Whitewater.

UMHB needs only one game(non conference)  If they have Muhlenberg in week one, along with their schedule already shown on D3 site--------don't forget, HSU, ETBU, McMurry.  5 games shown along with these 3 and Muhlenberg makes 9----------need one more game.

ksclegal

Per my prior post it's week 2 that is uncertain. We were trying to determine what are the possible options. It will likely be on the road.

UMHB-UWW and SJU-SJF at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, OH would be such a cool D3 event.  I know it would never happen, but a "kickoff classic" kind of thing for D3 would be tremendous
