Saw this posted on twitter, it kind of says out loud everything we expected about the state of the ASC:

Wow.  Sad to say that confirms what a lot of us have been saying.

It's gotten bad. The ASC needs to make something happen very soon...the longer that people wait to make a decision, the more costly it will be. I don't want to say it is too late to keep the ASC alive, but in reality, we're at that point. Despite talking to multiple sources on a very regular basis in covering this story, I still haven't heard any piece of actual concrete news to indicate a merger or the addition of new schools to the conference is any closer than it was 4-5 months ago.

I should note as well that if you remember, UTD was looking at going to D2 before Covid. The UT system wants all of their schools at D2 or higher. So while I definitely think it points to the future of the ASC being less than ideal, there's a good chance UTD was going to make this move all along.

What happened to Tristan Green and Pete Smith---don't see either one of them on the roster, which is finally listed by the way.  Don't see Spiller, they don't have Trey Witcher listed on Varsity roster either.  Pete Smith received pre-season recognition and he's not even on the roster????

Pat Coleman

Pete Smith was listed as not returning on the info we received from UMHB six weeks or so ago.

The Pete Smith "preseason honor" was from Dave Campbell's Texas Football, which we were informed was a mistake. Pete used his last year of eligibility in 2022. Unsure on the others.

updated roster stuff here:

UMHB lost 110, returned 85 (86?), and has 144 (143) new.  I noticed Courtney Patridge Lee is back after sitting out last year.  Looks like 21 transfers or new upper classmen.

Also, looks like only 62 with numbers this year vs 82 last year.  Some kids who had numbers last year didn't...  Lost more on the OL than I expected.  I don't see Reul Tandoh (14 games started), or Wyatt Crawford (9 games played) back.  Also, looks like Montana Miller is gone :-(.  Always rooted for him.  Surprisingly, Cornelius Merchant (transferred from ETBU last year) is back.

Talked with Larry Harmon at yesterday's press conference...Jackson Tingler will start at QB on Saturday, the UMHB defense should be a major strength (especially against UWRF's offense), and despite what has been said about UMHB's performance at its two preseason scrimmages, Harmon expects for there to be significant improvement this week against UWRF.

Here is the UWRF preview of the UMHB game:  https://uwrfsports.com/news/2023/8/29/football-no-23-falcons-open-season-hosting-no-3-mary-hardin-baylor.aspx

Not much there, but there is a link to the webcast which appears to be open to all at no cost (unlike St. John's and their freaking $15+ charge for their games)

Reached out to Wyatt's dad. He said he was focused on studies his final year. I can appreciate that. Not sure on Tandoh, but I know a few front line guys like Trey W Blitcher  are injured.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I was disappointed to see Romello Cook on the "no number" list.

Wonder if so many without numbers has something to do with Coach Harmon's statement about getting them out to play a good team and prove to them that they're not as good as they think they are...

Did yall see the height and weight of Eli Save who transferred in? Came from Southern Oregon where he last appeared on the roster in 2019. He was listed as 6'3" 370 there... He is listed as 6'5" 350 here. That's one hell of an offensive lineman!

I was surprised by this as well. Big game experience and good hands.

Probably making them earn their spot in the varsity locker room.  Work hard---get rewarded
