So then can I assume you hold these same concerns about TLU and Pomona-Pitzer who did the same thing?

They backed out of an agreement with Aurora University and I know Aurora would embrace getting them back on the schedule.

Interesting. That would be huge if it happened. At what point did they back out of the previous agreement?

The Gulf South Conference(DII) will be down to 4 football members, they may be willing to add anyone that wants to move to DII and play teams in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and northwest Florida.

I still think the lone star conference makes a lot of sense. They could pick up two teams and get rid of the two football only teams up in the pacific northwest.

Geographically the LSC makes more sense for HSU and UMHB.

But the GAC makes more sense for ETBU.  Most of the GAC schools are exponentially closer to ETBU than most of the LSC schools.

Selfishly I'd love to see ETBU move up to D2 and go the way of the GAC. Ouachita Baptist seems to do well there.

But I have a feeling they (and HPU) will likely end up NAIA and in the SAC until the D3 landscape changes in this area of the country.

The C2C is unappealing

It was around Covid.

That ship sailed.

Also, the C2C doesn't sponsor football.

I am curious as to when that would be based on our schedule around Covid.

The year before COVID, 2019, we only had 1 conference game which was Albright and that was the 2nd year of a 2 year contract so I don't think it would be then.

Nothing happened in 2020 and in 2021 we played Simpson College as our lone nonconference game but that was a contract signed in 2019.

Perhaps it was 2022 when we played Muhlenberg which would have been intriguing for us as they came to Belton knowing we couldn't go to them the next year as I don't believe their schedule allowed for it.

R1 Prediction

UMHB 16
Trinity 13

UMHB does something they haven't done once in the last two seasons, they will find a way to win a close game.

I believe if we can do that we will get the monkey off of our back in many ways and might get some mojo going. Trinity will be well coached and prepared, hopefully our players don't need reminding that our last meeting ended 35-16 in San Antonio.

Does anyone know if UMHB has posted their Game Notes? I haven't seen any yet.

I though UMHB might be in for a big day, but then the secondary decided that they didn't feel like covering anyone toward the end of the first half.

What was the secondary doing the last 5min or so of the 2nd quarter? Wow

Playing not to lose on offense isn't going to get it done, I hope we have a plan for this next 14min

zipmac22

If The Cru keeps playing like this they will not go much further into the playoffs. Do The Cru even want to win this game? The lack luster effort would say no.
