Cory Hogue's latest Blitz (subscriber only) lists HSU's Jesse Burleson as a finalist for the open HC spot at A&M-Kingsville.  He also talks about the turnaround in Belton.

Now that is interesting.

I'm pulling for an all 1st Rounder At-Large final game. UMHB vs Bethel. Six playoff games each.  An all I-35 matchup.

Until now, I hadn't even thought about that matchup being a Battle of the Baptists too. It has to happen.

BTW, I've made that drive many times with many more to come. Emporia, KS or Joplin, MO are roughly halfway. Time to set it up.

Maybe next year haha, I will be happy to drive to Houston if we are both lucky enough to get there.

Something that's catching fire on social media is UMHB's 2.72 team gpa.

Pat Coleman

It's getting way more attention than last year's post did, for sure.

Here we go again. The troll D3Fanboy under a different moniker?

They do not appear to be the same person, no.

Lots of people have no clue how d3 works and are assuming that somehow 51 with over a 3.5 gpa + 109/105 roster limit (or whatever it is) is impossible. It isn't a "great" gpa by any means but with 190+ on the roster it isn't terrible.

Just remember, d stands for diploma haha... Outside of my very first job no one has given a crap that I had a 3.3 undergrad or 4.0 gpa for my masters.

Lol. I was joking about the teams meeting halfway. A bad joke.

Hmmm.
Belton TX to Emporia KS on I-35 567 miles
Arden Hill MO to Emporia KS on I-35 553 miles.

Seems do-able.

Back in the day...
Belton TX to Belhaven, Jackson MS 494
Belton TX to Sul Ross, Alpine TX 417, seems like 517.

I think Sul Ross might feel even further than 517 depending on the route. I took a motorhome on my first trip out there coming from the Belton area. Google maps sent me west on US 190 all the way until it merged with I-10. The further west we got, the more the road was beat up by oil field trucks, etc. It was so rough I thought the dishes would fly out of the cabinets and cabinets fall from the walls. It's been I-10 via Austin, Fredericksburg, or Junction since then.
