Ralph,

You mean 4 baptist schools, a lutheran school, and a methodist school might balk @ Sunday play? ;)
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

dballa

Well I hope those same people that don't want to play an important make-up game on a sunday afternoon aren't the same people that rush home after church to watch the NFL.

Bill McCabe

I would think that cost and maybe even academics might have had something to do with not playing on Sunday.  Has anyone heard why they didn't play on Sunday?

And by the way, Rowan is, IMO, the most consistently overrated team in the country.  Over the last five years, the Profs have been outscored 115-45 in elimination playoff games (i.e. the game they lost to end their season), including being outscored 100-31 by non-East Region playoff opponents over that same time period.

I feel confident that which ever region's semifinalist matches up against the East--Rowan or not--that the East will be the losing squad at the end of the day.  Definitively.

So get off the Rowan bandwagon.  That dog doesn't hunt here.

Hey Josh wish wash,

How can you get on me for pointing out a possible weakness in UMHB D.  And then get mad about a LOSS LESS than a month ago, all the while, spewing facts about stats for an other team from YEARS ago to prove your point.

How do you figure your argument holds water more than mine?

Stats don't matter.  W's Matter.  So smite me oh mighty smiter, but your full of it.

dballa,

We don't rush home to watch football after church, we go to Buffalo Wild Wings ;D

We go to church early enough so we can do both.  :D

Wow! What would he be saying if CNU had lost :(

Josh Bowerman

Nothing, Bill.  That's the point.

Josh, You are probably right, but I think we might have heard wailing!

CruAlum39

Im not posting to say that UMHB should have beat CNU, they didn't and that is their fault.  However CNULifer, you said we had a great rushing d and something to the effect of --no one of our db's could run with your receivers--.  From what I heard about the game (and I could be wrong), CNU's long pass gains were on a fake punt and a toss pass.  Should we have covered the toss pass, yes, but that is a coverage issue that teams early in the year can make, not an issue of your athletic talent or speed over ours.  And everyone can be susceptable to a fake punt (we are trying to block a punt, not cover receivers).  Should it have been covered, yes, but once again that is a coverage issue not a speed issue.  Im not sure if we had two starting corners out or not, but keep in mind that we do have an all-american free safety who is the fastest white boy I have ever seen.  (I played with him)

Once again, CNU did what it took to win that day, but I think your arguement was a little off.  Just my .02.  Take it or leave it.
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

Bill McCabe

I think teams resort to trick plays when they don't match up well.

minni
