minni, you've beaten one team with a winning record.  UMHB has beaten 2 with winning records.  I wouldn't go pumping my chest too soon.

minni

Bill you made me laugh on that one...haha...That's funny.  Linfield lost to a DII (scholarship school and HSU) and then when they get into their conference play they whipped Willamette 42-14.  They are national contenders this year.  Then you have Stevens Point who lost to HSU and UW-La Crosse who is 4-0.  They Whipped the other two teams they played by a combined 80-7.  Your argument holds no water at all.  By beating those two teams plus a then undefeated Mississippi College team and taking L.C. to the shed before the game was stopped -- I think minni has every right to pump his chest.

minni

And Bill thats just how we roll.  We take folks to the shed!!!!!!

its funny how people keep complaining about umhb being taken lightly ....maybe some people should wake up and take HSU seriously kinda like minni does.....trust me they are LEGIT

Given results of the previous five games, I think all of us HSU fans should take a wait-and-see approach to the game.

This is a rivalry game, and those can always go either way.  I'm cautiously optimistic, but the Crusaders will be up for this one and at home.  Plus, if they lose, they're basically out of it.  Those three factors shouldn't be weighed lightly.

Also, crow doesn't taste good, whether it's served hot or cold--and it's always good to remember that.

Good point Josh...about the Crow.  I know I have had to eat it up in the past and it was yuckie!!!  Just ask the TLU poster.  Anyway, I think you are right on the money about the game.  A win means a lot to both programs.  That being said and I haven't seen UMHB play yet but I believe that HSU is just that good this year.  It will be very hard to stop the offense.  In fact like I said in an earlier post I don't think the Cru can stop the Cowboys.  I also  think the Cowboys will have a hard time stopping the Cru running game.  High scoring affair.  I think the Cowboys just out score the Cru in the end.

minni

I have no problem with crow!!!!  The fork and knife are in drawer if i need it.  I told a guy one time let me do the posting you do the winning, he laughed and said you got it and turned and walked away!!!!!  I trust in his words, and trust in my Cowboys.

I'm not saying UMHB will win the game, but I think you are making a mistake in down playing their defense.  UMHB has won 4 of the last 5 games with HSU and the defense came up big in all 4 of those.  HSU's defense dominated and made big plays in Belton 2 years ago.  I expect it to be a high scoring game, as it has been in the recent past.

minni

im not down playing anyone's defense i am just saying they really havent been tested yet.  so to say we have ONLY given up 41 points is nice, but i say who have you played.  Just know that that stat could easily double on saturday!!!!!

minni

and ill take all the negative karma you can give!!!!!! ;D

Bill McCabe

No negative karma here.  I enjoy your passion for your team.  Wish there were more fans like you.  It would make things a lot more fun.

Josh Bowerman

Wasn't me, either.

Given how hard you had to work to get back to even, I wasn't going to be the guy that sent you back down that path!  :)

Speaking of defense, UMHB has averaged 36.6 points against HSU in the last 5 games.  If they hit that Saturday, I think UMHB will win.  If HSU comes up with turnovers like they did in 2004, they win.

Bill -- You make good observations and I agree, up to a point. You do think it will be more complex than that, don't you? ???

minni --  I think I understand your perspective on whom UMHB has played so far. Just remember that it may still be a little bit early to measure HSU's strength of schedule/wins against UMHB's. As a former player you know that, even if the comparison were legitimate, it really means squat in any game. Much less this one.

Whatever the case, this should be a great game.Go, Cowboys!May the "Home Field Dis-Advantage" continue.
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!
