No name calling (for the record I do not regard the tongue-in-cheek reference "whipper-snapper" as name calling - especially when I refer to myself as a geezer in the same sentence) and I am not a karma smiter.

Just be carefully you don't drink too much Kool-Aid, it will make your teeth turn colors.  With a purple and gold smile, you might get hijacked into a Mardi Gras parade.  :)

Having watched UMHB vs Whitewater, it would be tempting to say, "The CRU should have won." But you know what, I won't do it. UWW defense played great and the Warhawks made fewer mistakes than UMHB. That formula wins games, especially close ones, more times than not.

I'll help to keep your karma from bottoming out but can't do it right now as I applauded less than 24 hours ago.  Sorry, Guys, it seems I helped get things stirred up on here when I discussed the AFCA poll this morning....................

I agree with minni, this sort of "spirited" exchange is fun... so long as everyones' nipples stay covered. I actually think exposing said body parts should draw a flag... a way too personal foul.  :o

Regional rankings are (finally) out, BTW.

Josh, what is your take on the Texas sub-bracket?

Bill--

As it stands, my objective thought is that it would end up being HSU at Trinity and a fly-in at UMHB.  Because of the head-to-head, I'd think a rematch between HSU and UMHB would be in Belton.  Objectively, here's what I think happens:

Carnegie Mellon at Washington & Jefferson
Averett/Christipher Newport at Wesley

Hardin-Simmons at Trinity
Washington & Lee/Emory & Henry at Mary Hardin-Baylor

Personally and subjectively, though, I think Trinity is the weakest of the three and ought to be the one on the road, but that's simply my opinion.  I've seen the Tigers play this year, and I'm confident that HSU or UMHB beats them by three scores, home or away.

Subjectively, I'd also like to see Wesley moved to the East Region bracket to add some teeth to it, but I doubt that will happen.

Thanks Josh.  Where can I find the 21 automatic qualifying conferences?  I wanted to see how that plays with the Regional Rankings.  The committee will select the best 7 for Pool C, without regard to region?

Kelly Boggs

Your informed thoughts are appreciated... and, while I am not quite as informed, I agree.

In looking at the Regional rankings and the automatic qualifiers, plus Pool B, it appears there are at least 14 teams ranked in the Top 8 in each region that will fight it out for a Pool C.  Still a lot of football to be played these last 2 weeks.
