Okay tartan fans, you have to understand that we ASC fans think that the NCAA gifted you a big one!

If you really are good, then you will dispose of Millsaps by 3 touchdowns.

Millsaps lost to 2 ASC teams that finished in the bottom half of the conference.

If you cannot beat Millsaps at home, then you truly must realize how bad your program is, and what a big favor the NCAA selection committe did for the prestigeous UAA.

Easy Ralph, Millsaps lost those in its first three games, a completly different team than the one that dominated Trinity yesterday

Ralph Turner

Bill, I don't know how good that CMU really is.  The UAA hasn't had a playoff team since Wash StL in 1999.

What I really hope is that this Millsaps' team is much much better than the team that was losing to Miss Coll, LaCollege and Huntingdon in the first 3 weeks.

I have become a really big Millsaps fan!!!!  Go Majors!!!

Bill McCabe

Ralph, after a few minutes to absorb all of this, I'm just glad we aren't discussing one of the ASC teams being left out.  Let's hope the winner of UMHB-HSU make a deep run.

minni

Well listen we cangrip and moan all we want but this is how it is and we will just have to accept it.  I have worried all year how the commitee would screw the ASC and im not surprised.  Oh well, we knew we would have to play each other sometime just was a matter of when.  Good Luck Texas and go Cowboys!!!!

cruprez

Yes, I agree....d3 did a great job and knows the politics of the NCAA quite well!

Well, the cards have been dealt and we shall place them as given to us....while I know it's hard to beat a team twice in one season and while HS is good, UMHB's defense is better than when we played them before...the game will be a great one and no doubt the best team will advance to round 2....

GO CRU.....

Ex-major, I really hope that the Millsaps team that is playing their 11th game for Coach Dubose is the team that is hitting on all cylinders.  Nevertheless, the committee uses the full season criteria to give out the seedings.  That is why I think that you Majors got the best bid possible!

I don't think that CMU can play with Millsaps speed on that New-style Turf surface that they have on Gesling Field in Pittsburgh!

I am really happy for the Majors!!!!!!!!!!!

minni, well said.  Are you feeling ok?  :D  Are you coming to Belton on Saturday?

roocru

See info from UMHB website below for game time.

Belton, TX-

For the fifth time in the past six seasons, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team has qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships. But for the first time, the Crusaders will open the postseason at home with a First Round playoff game against American Southwest Conference rival Hardin-Simmons next Saturday at 12:00 PM.
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Congrats to UMHB and remember what happened the LAST time you hosted a playoff game ... good luck to both teams, I hope the winner can get revenge on Wesley.

Bill Im feeling fine and I dont know if I will be there or not.  Im going to try and make it.

Sure the UMHB defense is good and may even be better be the HSU offense and Defense is much improved also.  The game should be an instant classic shown on ESPN.  HSU needs a great week of preperation and go down to there house and play a good game and hopefully have a second round home game for thanksgiving.  Nothing like have thanksgiving in the cafeteria.

Bill McCabe

minni, I hope the winner Saturday gets a home game in the 2nd round.  I'm not too certain when it involves the NCAA.  ;)

Zmotion10 out on 2

The winner of the UMHB and HSU game deserves a home game.  Whichever team wins has a real shot to win this thing.  Go Cowboys!  I'm so excited!!!!!!   What a great matchup.

After the loss earlier in the season I was wanting a rematch before I even left the stadium.  Well we got it.  Great job Cowboys on finishing up the rest of the conference one game at a time.  You guys left no doubt and now it is time to go and take this game.

minni

One game at a time and one step at a time.  I too believe the winner of this game has a real shot going a long way.  I still dont think the country respects the kind of football played in texas.  Unfortunately only one team from Texas can really show them.  Good luck preparing this week and I am so excited the real season now begins.  WIN OR GO HOME!!!!!

HSUPosse

Well, I have to say that I'm disappointed.  Does anyone know why the committe used a differerent software that what they tell the schools to use.  I figured HSU and UMHB would have to play each other in the second round or later (if they both made it that far).  However, you have to do with what is given to you.  I guess the good thing about the situation is that the ASC should get home field advantage for at least two games.  Whoever wins between UMHB and HSU should get the home field advantage in the second round.  Hypothetically, if Wesley is knocked out in the first two rounds and Whitewater knocked out within the first three rounds, the winner of Saturday's game could host the Semifinals.  For HSU to host the Semifinals, they would need Central to be knocked out within the first three rounds as well.  That's what it looks like to me.  If I'm wrong, just let me know.  That scenario, however, is way down the line.  First, it's HSU at UMHB.  I wish I could make the game, but I guess I'll have to settle for the audio via the internet.  GO COWBOYS!!!!!

Toby Taff

Wow, this pairing sucks.

That said... anyone in Abilene making the trip to Belton next week?  I could use a ride ;D
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.
