Kenneth K, I agree with you about HSU's schedule.  Too bad they couldn't play La Crosse at 1:00, instead of 7:00.  A little Texas heat should help the cause.  :D

speaking of HSU's quarterback issues, Yes replacing Jordan is a huge feat. He was my roomate the last 2 years before leaving for sweden..He is a tremendous athlete and ive never seen someone with the dedication he has to his cause. He left everything he had on the field. Im now roomates with Clint Bricker the transfer expected to take over at QB. Clint transferred from Stephen F Austin after dislocating his shoulder in the 3rd game of the season there. He will be a redshirt sophomore here at HSU and Playing and starting 3 games for a D1AA program should have a tremendous effect on how ready he is to play. His work ethic rivals that of my former roomate and i have the utmost confidence that hell be ready to step in and play. Oh did i mention hes 6'2 222 and runs a 4.56 40?

Dave Campbell's Texas Football has it predicted like this:

1.  UMHB
2.  HSU
3.  Mississippi College
4.  Sul Ross
5.  ETBU
6.  TLU
7.  Howard Payne
8.  LA. College
9.  McMurry

but he does say that UMHB and HSU will be at the top, and the other 7 will be pretty evenly matched.

Jordan Neal went to Sweden?  I thought he was in seminary at H-S U.

For those UMHB fans that never saw this clip The City Of Salem puts together a video package of each Stagg Bowl team. (Thanks PC)  It's a good watch.

This has become one of the highlights of the Friday afternoon banquet the past few years. They keep getting better at it.

Is DCTF out?  I haven't seen it yet, but I haven't had the time to get to the grocery store in about a week.

I find it slightly interesting that MC is picked third--they're a team on the come, especially if their QB is healthy.

Josh, 500 copies were released last week through the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco.  It should hit stands everywhere this week.

Why would we not think Jordy or Justin Feaster would step in at QB for HSU? I heard the receiving core is going to be very good and their is a very fast kid that has moved in at RB.

Jordan Neal has been in Sweden since mid april playing football for the Lihmahn Griffins in Malmo. He actually just got back to Abilene today for the midseason break for Swedens national team to take part in a World Cup like football tournament. His wedding is this saturday and then he will have a month before heading back to Sweden for the rest of his season there. Josh Kubiak is a representative of the US national team taking part in the tournament

That is correct HSU has a fast running back in Thurston Ashley.. He played two years ago when jordan neal broke his collar bone and for personal reasons did not play this past season but is back into full swing.

All three qb's have gotten great looks and have been working really hard this offseason fighting for the top spot! They all have their strengths and weaknesses......

The recieving core is looking very strong with all conference selection Mychal Carillo, Matt Fields and Transfer Travis Watson from Uconn.....I saw them in the weight room all semester together and they all are getting very big/ fast and most importantly physical.. They all have this nasty attitude about bringing it or going home.  ANother young prospect is Zavious Robbins who could possibly be the secondary slot player in twins packages.

The Running backs are just as stacked as recievers with returner Quinton Jones and Josh Sepeda. With the new speedster Thurston Ashley Hsu should have multiple ways to stretch the field and keep the defense on their toes!

Another thing i forgot is about Utep reciever transfer Adam Podzemeny. A nice tall decent speed reciever who will help the cowboys on the outside at reciever.. This is a very talented class at reciever!

So is this going to be another year were HSU is the team to beat in the ASC, only to be beaten by UMHB in the regular season. Then get a pool C bid into the playoffs, only to be beat again by UMHB. Maybe this year all the HSU fans will realize that UMHB is sitting on top of the ASC, and that they are the team to beat. I doubt it though. I can't wait for the season to start. I might get to see more games this year.
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

kickhoe

Wow!!!  I don't think he was saying that HSU was the team to beat......in the early predictions....UMHB has been noted as the better team.......way to step up the hostility, yessir........  ???
