I'm working with a private practice in fredericksburg, tx.  It's going to be strange being away from abilene this football season.  I'm going to try to make a few games, but it's a long drive.

Well I am glad to see that I am out of the doghouse and everyone is getting along.

I have a question for the dIII guru's out there!!!  Would you consider the HSU with the preseason toughest schedule?  and i say preseason because sometime your opponets dont live up to the preseason hype.  But looking at it today would you consider them to have the toughest schedule?

Just curious and trying to get off the topic we beat to death every season!!! :)
Minni, I think that both HSU and UMHB have scheduled good non-conference opponents.

Here is my assessment of the non-conference schedules in 2007:

1T) HSU - at Linfield, hosting UW La Crosse
1T) UMHB - hosting USAC contender CNU, at 2006 runner-up UW-Whitewater
3)   Miss College, playing the SCAC Champion Millsaps in the Backyard Brawl and at LaGrange
4)  LaCollege - hosting Millsaps and at LaGrange
5)  McMurry - at Huntingdon, hosting Austin College
6)  Texas Lutheran - Hosting Sul Ross State for their 10th game and at Trinity
7)  ETBU - Hosting Trinity and they playing D2 Ouachita Baptist
8 )  Sul Ross State - at Texas Lutheran and at SWAG.  I am glad they got their 10th game (with TLU).
9)  HPU - Hosts Southern Nazarene (OK) and at Texas College, 2 NAIA's.

My preferences are for teams to schedule D-3's whenever possible.  Every D3 opponent this year is an "in-region" opponent, which helps with playoff seeding.

Thanks Ralph.

HSU reported last night with meetings, pizza and other things.  Practice today and talking to some of the guys the are extrememly excited about the upcoming season.  Three guys are up for the QB job.  So these next few weeks will be big for the offense.  September 1 is going to be a hot one!!!!  Texas is finally hitting the summer temps were are accustomed to.

McMurry reported on the 11th.

Montgomery AL will be hot and humid;)

 Levity for a Monday.....

The new  supermarket near my house has an automatic water mister to
keep produce fresh. Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of
thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you approach the milk fridges, you hear cows mooing and witness
the scent  of fresh hay.

When you approach the egg case, you hear  hens cluck and cackle and
the air is filled with the pleasing aroma  of bacon and eggs frying.

The veggie department features  the sound of a gentle breeze and the
smell of fresh buttered  corn.

I  don't buy toilet paper there any  more.

Thanks, Josh. That Monday levity helps ... I'm stuck at home recovering from a surgical reduction of a broken ankle (four days in hospital whilst "on vacation" on the Delaware shore). Said ankle now features assorted screws, pins, and a plate.

Get well soon, WT!  Nothing sucks more than having to do the medical thing while on holiday.  My wife messed up her ankle on a trip to Australia a coupla years ago and we ended up seeing the inside of medical facilities in Melbourne, Alice Springs, and Cairns as a result ... but good care there at least.  This summer her mom ended up having to have both her appendix and gall bladder taken out whilst in Jackson Hole ... yeesh.

And now you get to explain your situation to the TSA every time you travel.   ;)

Here's hoping you're back on your feet soon, Warren.  All the best for a speedy recovery.
