I've been fighting a bug, not that it really matter b/c I used up my football karma with my wife flying to the Millsaps game earlier this year.  When I said something about going tomorrow I got "the look"  :o.

It's supposed to be a beautiful day for yardwork and that's what I'll be doing, cleaning out one of the beds behind the house while listening to the game.    :P  Thank goodness for extended home wireless networks.

What's the look?  Is it a different expression?  I think I've been staring at it for 13.5 years.  (My wife is not a fan of sports and rarely humors me by going along.)
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Toby,

Cheer in my stead.  I won't be able to make it.

We had scheduled to be in Central Texas all of next week for Thanksgiving. I was hoping to catch a second round game, but UMHB's seeding in the South will likely cause that not to materialize.

I will be listening in via the 'net.

ROFL .. 12.5 here, she's not much on sports either but I've learned when to give in and when to fight the battle.  Got to go to the second NBA Finals game earlier this year, have been to a Stagg Bowl in the past so no complaints.

I get a totally different look than yall guys........LOL I get that "I'm goin without you look......" My wife loves UMHB football more than I do. She cried at loses that I didn't even cry at.

I know flights are high, but I bet the NCAA gets a great discount compared to any other company/business. I'm sure the NCAA isn't making a huge profit off of the D3 sports, nor are they losing alot. Atleast not to justify some of the matchups they have setup in the past.
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

My wife is UMHB class of 94 and will go if she thinks friends will be around so she can talk, but her dad, who was a campus boy in the late 50's or early 60's, hated sports so her family never watched.  The funny thing about that is that her mom was a closet football/hockey fan for the first 22 years of my wifes life.  Once she had a sports fan in the family she came out of the closet and I get to watch football whenever we're at the in-laws.

Another funny aside to the football issue is my kids.  I take them to games with me, especially when my wife goes, and the first time we were at a UMHB-HSU game they were't sure which "purple and yellow" team to route for, not just b/c of the colors but also because we both go to HSU for grad school..

There are some "up sides" of my current situation...

At least I don't get "the look" any more.

Of course, I don't have a couch to sit on in my living room, but I kept the TV....
Been wrong before.  Will be wrong again.

We'll be in and out of the Killeen/Temple/Waco area next week.  I'm going tomorrow, Laura is taking Rhiannon to Scott and White for a neurology appt. on Monday (hopefully the 4 hr eeg they are doing reveals no seizure activity and we can start the process of getting her off her meds.) and then we wre going back down for Thanksgiving after school on Tuesday.  That's a bunch of driving  :P

Toby,

Sounds like you are setting the tone for the CRU. If they are going go very far in the playoffs they are going to have to follow your example as a tireless Road Dog!

I am out of town this weekend.

If I had my druthers, I would be watching McM men and women in the Colorado College tourney.

Quick Question......

I know the NCAA doesn't like to spend money on D3 football. Yet with $8 per person, per game, with the added sales of T-shirts, which are ussually sold out. I would think that the NCAA is atleast breaking even during the D3 football playoffs. Any input......

Funny, we pay $10 to watch UWW play at the Perk.  Thought that was the mandated price by the NCAA.  Guess our school takes it's own cut. ;)

The NCAA doesn't get a cut in regular season games.

UWW is just "gouging" its fans!   :D :D ;)

UWW stadium is unbelievable though. Atleast you know that part of the $10 is going towards making the "Game" experience better. Not many D3 stadiums have instant replay capablilities, as well as on screen player recognition. UWW stadium was pretty awesome......even if we did lose.

I am sorry, I didn't make it clear.  We pay $6 during the regular season but it jumps to $10 for the play-offs.  I thought the increase was the NCAA's requirement.   Just surprised that other programs are only charging $8 for play-off games.
