n talking to people around the HSU campus, most seem to think that the Cowboys offense will be loaded, maybe even better than last years.  The defense is still a question mark.  I guess we'll have to wait and see who shows/steps up in the fall.  If the D looks the same as last year, there maybe some high scoring track meets in Abilene.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

with the addition of junior college transfers and a co-defensive coordinator to help, hsu has total confidence in their defense. like mhb8904 said the offense is loaded and the defense has great potential. we'll see in the fall. there is a great positive attitude around the hsu field house and campus about football next year.

The ASC teams sure seem to have a hard time scheduling non-conference games, particularly in region.  I guess travel is the major obstacle and if all of the teams improve, I think it will be even harder to schedule D3 opponents.

For those HSU people....Dr. Craig Turner is stepping down as president in May....he and his wife are moving to North Carolina to be near his grandchildren.  He will also be the new president of Contawba University.

I hate to see him go.  Great man!!!

Congratulations, and we McMurry alums send salutations with Dr Turner (no immediate relationship) to the Catawba University Indians!   :)

What kinda of Juco tranfers did HSU get  cowboy fan? My little bro goes there and plays ball for them.

Oh no, another Indian mascot!!!  :o  Good luck to Dr. Turner.

If my research is correct, Catawba is the Catawba University Catawba Indians. Named after the tribe. Like the FSU Seminoles.
Perhaps all McM would have to do is have a tribe "adopt" them and McM adopt that tribe's name. But what (self respecting) tribe would want to do that? ;)
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

The 100,000 people in Bell County are not likely to be natives that aspired to be UMHB Crusaders when they were growing up.

Come, now, Ralph.  Doesn't every Belton HS graduate that runs a 4.2 second 40 yard dash and bench presses 300 pounds grow up aspiring to be a Cru (still not sure what that is)?  I mean, that IS why Quincy Daniels is there, is it not?  At least that's what we've been led to believe by some of the faithful that frequent these here pages...    ;)

I think it has more to do with his height and the fact that his HS team was 2-8 his senior season, and winless his junior season. Or maybe it was just the residual effects from Ramonce Taylor's character issues.

Can't decide where to put this but I have to brag somewhere about UMHB. Today the softball team moved into the TOP 25 at #19. This give UMHB 5 teams ranked in the Top 25 including the football, men's basketball, men's golf, baseball and softball.

Anyone that knows anything about Quincy knows there are no character issues. This kid would actually like to be known for who he is, not what he has achieved. He is a stellar young man. I had him in my tenth grade Sunday school class and he is a great guy. Nothing like Romance.

Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!
