Quote from: yessir on August 28, 2008, 03:32:34 PMone thing I can gaurantee. His attitude will not get him anywhere with Coach Fredenburg. A few years ago UMHB had a slight cancer problem in the locker room....ole DNP was his name. And that is exactly what he didn't do at UMHB was Did Not Player. Sittin on the bench is what he'll do if he pulls any of the anticts stated in this thread. Coach Fredenburg has no problem doing what is best for his team and his program. Rather it be sit on guy on the bench....or make a big time transfer play on JV.

And so yessir's comments are confirmed.  +1 for you
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Saenz is probably going to be the starting QB and was all along.

The Temple Daily Telegram has an article about the UMHB scrimmage today.  Here's an interesting quote:

Athletic senior Rashon Lewis, who had transferred from McMurry and was playing for his fourth school, no longer is with the program after a falling out on Wednesday.

"Rashon Lewis is not a part of this team and did not want to be a part of this team," Fredenburg said.

I guess we don't have to worry about that any longer.

My prayers are for Lewis...all that talent and so little discipline and judgment.

So many wasted chances.

Glad to see Fredenburg still has backbone. He probably had this renegade on a short leash from the start and the guy just could not understand that one of the best programs in the country wasn't worth his individualism.
I agree, near %100 of time, transfers have some sort of baggage, bad baggage usually.

Ron Boerger

Never have so many been so right about something (Lewis).  A shame the young man has not made the most of the numerous chances thrown his way.

Bill McCabe

used2b,  I don't think transfers have any more baggage than freshmen that come into the program.  My son transferred to UMHB and it was one of the best decisions of his young life.

crufootball

The Cru scrimmage was interesting to watch and I was glad that the Cru had to battle to win the game.

Best point in the game was when Brett Parker picked off a pass and was running it back when his helmet got ripped off somehow and he kept on running. The play was called dead, but he didn't know that and he had no intention of stopping until he got to the endzone.

Bill McCabe,
I said most and the vast majority of transfers have baggage, NOT ALL, IMHO. I stand by that. I have seen way more transfers have substantial baggage, than others; but  I have seen a couple work out who were really good.

Bill McCabe

I think a player like Lewis is the exception, rather than the rule for transfers.

+karma for you sir..  thats the real tragedy here.  What does his future hold for him?  I think this is whats lost (rightfully so, this is a football website) with all the talk about his issues.

That's too bad. I expect that he will be re-signed to the practice team.

By the way I just read that Jake Allen has been released as well.

Since Chad Johnson's now Ocho Cinco, maybe O For Four isn't taken.  Sorry I didn't know the Spanish translation.
