Congrats to HSU on a very good come back and good luck against Linfield. As someone who didn't see or listen to the game, I am wondering did the Cowboys just start playing better or did La Crosse stop playing well?

Also is any one else a little worried about the Cru having to play a team that already has two game, both of which were victories, under their belts?

Pat Coleman has added a feature on the front page right column that lists what he is reading.  Here is a great article about LaCollege and its adjustments to Hurricane Gustav. Click here.

Before the board got too many pages ahead, I just wanted to give a shout out to ETBU for a surprisingly good showing in Collegeville on Saturday.  I hope it was a case of ETBU being much better than suspected, I fear it might be a case of SJU being a little less than anticipated--I bet it's actually a little of both.

Your offensive line was very impressive.  I was expecting to see Johnnies camped in the backfield all game long and it just didn't happen--until the very end, when they finally started getting the kind of pressure they should have been getting all game.

That tight end, Peoples, he's quite a load.  There's no way he's 6-3, 240 like the program says.  As much as I hated to see him score his TD, I got a kick out of 11 guys half his size trying in vain to chase him down the field.

It was nice of a couple of the ETBU coaches to join the tailgate a bit before the game, seemed like good fellas.

Win some games and make this "bad" win for the Johnnies look like a good one!

Best of luck the rest of the year.  Win some big games and

first off congrats to the ASC for stepping up and scheduling some opponets and performing well against those that where scheduled.

Secondly I was proud of the Cowboys this weekend in rebounding in the second half with the changes that the coaches made and the players executing those changes.  Sounds like they need the ball back and the defense did that.  Maybe those that know more about both teams can answer this question.  Were these two teams underrated this year that should have been in the top 25?

I would recommend the trip and especially the SJU fans to the ETBU faithful.
When the Johnnies played at HSU in the semi-finals about 8 years ago, I found the SJU fans -- students, alums, and parents alike -- to be as classy as they were rabid. Great bunch.
Of course, there was one tall skinny student with long, curly hair. Wore a cape as part of his costume/outfit. Very ugly (in the non-handsome sense) young man. I pray for him. If he dies I would become the ugliest man on earth! ;D (Seriously, just "calling him out" -- are you there?) ??? :D
Also, whatever happened to "Touchdown Tommy"?

Hey, I was there in Abilene ("prettiest town I ever seen") that day, a rather close game that could have gone either way.  HSU is also really top notch, except for that band director in the 10 gallon hat...You should have heard his version of the Johnnie Fight Song, after I hummed a few bars for him.  He's gotta be tone deaf, or I was Kinky Friedman on weed that day! ::)

Any chance there will be a video feed on the Linfield  HSU game on Sat?

I'm pretty sure there's no live video feed, but there will be live stats.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I will be in Abilene to watch the my little brother and the HSU team on Sat. GO Cowboys!

Johnnie -- My bet is that the HSU band director was not tone deaf. :D
As for your being "Kinky Friedman on weed", be careful about using redundancy when writing. Still, regarding the concept: I doubt anyone who has ever been associated with SJU has ever had his "wierd" as turned on as Kinky's always is!
Now, let's go finish watching the Packers-Vikings. You betcha!
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

There is a wireless internet connection available in the stadium, depending on where you sit.  I'll see if I can get some video and post it to youtube throughout the game.

I should probably mention that the story says Noack, a sophomore, is getting the start because Saenz is serving a 1 game suspension
