The answer to your question is, yes!

The frontal boundary is drawing moisture and has saturated most of the area with more rain tonight.  Ike, however, is supposed to bring another 1 -3 inches depending on where you are.  Abilene is on the edge of the 2-3 inch zone.  North of Abilene is already a soggy mess adding Ike might make for some down stream fun.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

I would have to say that our boys are used to playing in the rain.  No biggie for the Cats

i assume that umhb is not VIDEO streaming the game?

i talked to wildcat11 a bit ago and he told me the linfield flight was delayed in portland for mechanical problems and won't make Dallas till after 8pm so the team won't be in a-town until midnight or later.  Here's to safe travels and hopefully a good nights sleep.

Had to search for it, but found the UMHB Crusaders live audiocast here:

Crusaders up by 30-0 in the third quarter over the Southern Nazarene Storm.  How appropriate is that?  Hope they don't have any players named Ike!

I'm sure I speak for the entire Bridgewater College community in saying a special prayer to all those in southern Texas tonight. God bless and stay safe as Ike rolls through this evening.

Curious question...

Is HSU freshman RB Keith Daniels from Belton of any relation to UMHB's Quincy Daniels from Belton?  If so, that would certainly make for some interesting family get-togethers!   :)

Mississippi College is at the University of the Cumberlands today. We'll get kicked off here in about 30 minutes and we'll know a little more about our team. Cumberlands ended last season ranked 17th in NAIA's Top 25 and are preseason 22nd this year.

It's hard to compare game scores, but UMHB's beating of Southern Nazarene provides some comparison. Southern Nazarene was receiving 1 vote in the NAIA Top 25 and would technically rank 34th in NAIA.

Austin College beats McMurry in 2 overtimes 21-14.

Ditto on the things posted about McMurry-AC.

Field was in good shape for the conditions.  Respectable crowd for both teams considering the weather.

Tough loss.

Dang! Cowboys you did what you had to do. Dang!

Here's to a healthy season. We are injured after playing you.

Mississippi College lost 49-28 to NAIA #22 Cumberlands. It's not fair to lay all this on Adam Shaffer because they weren't all his fault, but he had seven picks, three returned for touchdowns, and a fumble late in the 4th that led to another touchdown. Two of the int's were batted at the line and grabbed by the nose guard. Another bounced off a receivers chest and a couple others looked like miscommunication.

We outgained them 330-233 and actually still managed to be tied 21-21 late in the third quarter before two pick six's on consecutive plays gave them a 35-21 lead. We scored a touchdown on our next possession to pull within 35-28. We stopped them on fourth and one at midfield with about eight minutes left, but another pick six made it 42-28.

Hopefully we got all our mistakes out of our system in the nonconference portion of the schedule.

Great win for HSU today over our Cats.  Best of luck, see you in the playoffs
