That was the same cocky attitude the Crew had in 2003 when I was there. In the end, UMHB's mouths were completely agape that they'd been so arrogant, not to know the point spread needed for the Tigers.
- all this said, I think UMHB wins by 3 scores; although I'd like to see HSU pull it off.

cowboyfan,  he didn't say they played 2 very good teams and I would agree with that to a point.  I'm not sure a winless team is something I would get that excited about.  Josh said HSU has played the toughest non-conference schedule in the country.  I still think that is a stretch.

All that being said, HSU-UMHB should be a very good match up and I'm anxious for it to get here.

Hope HSU Packs a Lunch, cause its gonna be an all day a** whoopin from the CRU.  Ring fingers are getting heavy in Belton!!  I already hear key jingling!!  UMHB's former rival HSU will be going back to Abilene with thier tales tucked between thier legs.  Get ready, its gonna be ugly, all I gotta say is 46 and 47, POWDER RIVER FOOTBALL from the CRU, (thats right POWDER, look it up, its an old mining term i believe)

I remember that day in 2003 also and I hope the UMHB players aren't falling into that trap.  That was the worst game I saw the Cru play and that was due to HSU outplaying them in every aspect of the game.  I would be greatly surprised if the coaching staff and players are over confident.  Confident is good and cocky is bad.

used2b,

how many rings do you have?  I've got plenty!! Yep, when you're the best you can be cocky, matter of fact, thats the way i like my football teams, know your the best, play with a swagger, have a little cockyness about you, judging by the rock on my right hand i'd say its worked.  Don't worry you young Crusaders, you'll have yours soon enough!!!

bill,

i see your point and you are both right to some degree and wrong to some degree. Without speaking for Josh what i am excited about is a good football team that is 4-0 going into a good football game with a tough appoinent. UMHB is no doubt a good ball club and they have been for a long time. But the previous years HSU has entered this name with a lose which i believe puts a big mental roadblock. I'm glad that with the exception of CruAlum there is no really trash talking this week. Its going to be a great football game and both teams have a valid shot this weekend. I'm sure when CruAlum talks about ring fingers being heavy in Belton his is not referring to his own. Good thing we can all live vicariously through the teams we support.

Bill et. al., I said "arguably" the best non-conference schedule.  That word is important both for context and intent.

CruAlum,

I can see the sparkle of your ring from here. Very impressive. I do know this UMHB is in a very competative conference and will not always be on top. Should be interesting this weekend and i hope HSU proves your very wrong. Come monday i'll be interested to see what your post says. It'll either have lots of "i told you so" or a "we got screwed' tilt to it I suppose. Either ways i'll be listening in saturday. CruAlum your swagger as you call it is the reason i stopped visiting this site. There is a definitive line between confident and arrogant. Your's seems to border on Arrogant.

Josh,  In my opinion HSU isn't even close to the best non-conference schedule.  I don't think that will impact this weeks game.  Two good teams going at it.

Why?  Because LaCrosse lost to a DII team and an NAIA scholarship squad?  Or because Linfield has only played two games--a loss against HSU and a win over a NAIA scholarship squad?

And I disagree with your second thought, too, Bill.  UMHB may very well BE the better team--we will see on Saturday--but their schedule to date has been nowhere near as difficult as HSU's, nor have they been tested in the least the last two weeks.  I think that those two facts will make a BIG difference Saturday--especially if the game is close.

HSU did not outplay the Cru that year. If I am correct, UMHB won by 7? Someone else outplayed the Cru in 2003, and the Cru actually played well that day, just not well enough.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

CruAlum90, You are repulsive and repugnant. Everyone knows you have rings, but so do others. "pride comes before the fall." And it came once before for the Cru in 2003. You might just relax and not try and smear the good patrons on this board everytime you get a chance. Everyone hear is a fan of their respective team.
-I remember a TLU Goat that turned out to be a complete idiot on here, and no one even paid attention to him. He got what was coming to him, too; with TLU now being a on real hard times.

- By the way, some of us others also Have Rings! I have a Ring too!
