But what is their playoff record outside of the northeast, though, Ralph?  That's the only point I'm trying to make.

BTW, are you going to the McMurry game Saturday?  I'll be in town already for HSU Homecoming festivities, but would love to touch base Saturday night, if possible.

I think there's a big difference in the programs at Wesley and Linfield and W&J.  That gap may have closed a bit this year, but traditionally, the PAC teams (whatever pool they're in) haven't been as strong on the national scene.

Just my humble .02 worth.

Good luck to all the teams this weekend!

But they always had the numbers to get a pick into the system!   :-\

The Pres AC is 7-9 in the playoffs.  (The archives for the previous seasons is temporarily down.  I cannot find the playoff results since 1999 very easily.)

It was moved off the front page for space, but there's a link there to the FAQ page where it lives.

Going to Alex Bickley's Funeral on Friday and then on call on Saturday.  I will try to get back to the Habitat House that our church is building.

Alex was a 1938 McMurry grad, Distinguished Alumnus and was on the McM Board from '77-'86.  Please pass the information along as necessary.

I don't think I've posted these yet. If I have oh well. :P Here are my picks for this week.

Mary Hardin-Baylor 29, Louisiana College 13
East Texas Baptist 25, Hardin-Simmons 24
Sul Ross State 28, Texas Lutheran 19
Howard Payne 24, McMurry 13
all in 26 total possessions

I've been toying with the idea of running the numbers like that for the rest of the year to try and predict where everyone will finish. Would anyone be interested in me doing that? Wouldn't take much effort, but I have another personal stat project I'm working on that takes up most of my spare time so I don't want to do it if no one's interested.

HSU, ETBU, McMurry and Howard Payne parents, players and fans--

A quick note to let everyone know that I'll be covering both games for d3football.com on Saturday.  Images will be up for viewing at some point Sunday evening.  This is a little later than usual, as I won't get back from Abilene until late Saturday night and I've got some family obligations Sunday morning and early afternoon.

As always, prints of these images are for sale, and the proceeds go to support this site.  Please email me offline or PM me with any special requests, and I'll do by best to get them covered.

Yes, CUAfan, that would be interesting.  Thanks!

Okay...didn't think it would go that quick. Here are my projections for the final finish. I'll run them again after each week to see if it changes at all.

2. East Texas Baptist 7-1
3. Hardin-Simmons 6-2
4. Sul Ross State 5-3
5. Mississippi College 3-5
5. Texas Lutheran 3-5
5. Louisiana College 3-5
8. Howard Payne 1-7
9. McMurry 0-8

etbualum,
I have noticed and have been dissapointed from what I had heard from players and Coaches on how good Oeshlaeger was going to be. He seems to be very erratic and innacurate. From what I'd heard he was going to be awesome, and the best QB ETBU had ever had (which wouldn't have been hard). Any comments?

In the short history of ETBU football we have not had a solid qb for a whole season.  Van Cleave and Brandon Nelson both were great at times and horrific at others.  Oehlschlaeger played probably 30-40% of the time last year.  This year we are just 4 games in, so I think he does have potential to be the best we have had, but that hasn't happened yet.  I do think some people wished he had played better, but he is 3-1. He is a pretty solid kid so I hope he figures it out and I think he will.  He just needs a little more time.

He is going to be pushed in the future though.  We have a kid on the JV that has been pretty good this year.  They played MC this week and walked all over them.

etbualum,
good to see you have rolled into your office this morning on time, else your authority-intoxicated superior might give you flack (sp).
Intersting comments about the up and coming JV quarterbakck, Lets hope, for etbu's sake, that he stays in school and reaches his potential one day. Quarterback's have a weird way of never coming to fruition there. I'm going to put Oeschlager in that column, too, for now.

There is always the possibility of the re-match.  ;)

I'm going to try and broadcast at least part of the HSU game on Saturday.  I'm pretty sure the video won't be great, but I won't really know the quality until I can get to the field.  I have a broadcast channel on mogulus.com and have been working to set everything up.  I'm guessing the audio won't be great either so I'd encourage you to listen to the radio feed from one of the schools.  I'll post the link to the feed on the ASC in game updates borad tomorrow.

anyone think there could be a legitimate and hard fought game this week between HSU/ETBU? Just seems to be a very big game for both. Especially HSU.

Toby Taff

I think it will be a good game.  I'm interested in seeing ETBU for the first time, and HSU has seemed to play to their opponents level all year.  I'd like to see the HSU offense come out and play a full game like they played the last half of the 4th qtr against UMHB, as they have in the past, and I'd like to see the defense stop the run.
