I did not listen to the UMHB game this past Saturday. Somebody mentioned to me that Bryson Tucker might have left the game with an injury. Anything to this? If so, any one know his status?

I was there and it appeared to be a cramp or something minor. Spoke to him after the game and he seemed fine. My son hasn't mentioned anything this week about significant injuries.

How did Tucker do back on defense?

Bill, he made the D3 team of the week for special teams with ridiculous return averages and he had 4 tackles (I think 4 is correct).
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Special teams have been a real difference maker for UMHB.  It has been the difference many times against good teams.

The American Southwest Conference has partnered with Clear Marketing Concepts in developing a weekly online video production that will highlight student-athletes, coaches, member institutions, games and academics. The show about the 15-member NCAA Division III-affiliated athletic conference will be called ASC All Access and produced every Wednesday throughout the academic year. ASC All Access, which can be viewed by logging onto www.ASCsports.org/AllAccess, debuts on Sept. 16.

He looked like he hasn't missed a beat as far as I could tell. Seemed to flow to the ball well and was okay in coverage. SNU threw a lot of swing passes and the safeties weren't really challenged deep. The CRU position imop is a hybrid of strong safety/linebacker. Glad to have him back on D.

Good news Cru fans, Munoz returns this week against TLU.  You can read that and more here:http://www.tdtnews.com/story/2009/09/15/60650
Reliable source tells me Bristow will be back for Hardin-Simmons.

Speaking of sources, any body got news on HSU's list of injuries?

Any word on Feaster?

D O.C.

It's Friday and it's quite obvious nobody's talking. Like a good mommy it makes me think the worst, however.  I'm too used to having double-talk and spin, I suppose. Hope it's all nothing too serious.

D.O.C.,

I'm interested in tomorrows games.  I'm planning on going to LC- HSU and MC - McM.  I'll have an opinion after I've seen the changes made w/o Feaster and Robbins on the field.  Likewise, I saw McM last week, but the Air-Raid Offense was slowed by rain, but even in the rain it was pretty impressive.  McM's problem is the Defense can't stop the run (this will be a huge problem vs the Cru next week), so this game could be a shoot out.  I'm looking forward to seeing the Air Raid O on a dry night to get a better feeling for it (however, I'm not looking forward to hearing those stupid sirens).  So watch for updates tomorrow.

If I were a defensive player, I would go to McMurry because I know that I am going to get time on the field.

It will be an attrition thing for the McMurry defense for the first couple of years, but as the defense gets use to the system, and they get more bodies, then the playing time will be there for the players.

I think that the average McMurry series will rarely be 2 to 3.5 minutes long.  That means that the defense may always be on the field more than the offense, even in offensive blowouts.  TOP may always favor the McMurry opponent just because how quickly McMurry can score.

I think that we may not see the full potential of the McMurry defense until late in the 2011 season (just as now seeing the full potential of the Austin College offense in the early part of the 4th year under Coach Gage, and retrospectively sooner than that.)
