I will be very interested to see if our o-line and d-line will be able to do as well as they have the past couple of weeks. I know in the past UW-W has been able to slow us down because they usually have excellent lines, but last week they gave up 6 sacks against  Wartburg.

That is a little misleading because our QB held onto the ball too long on some of those sacks.

I watched a portion of the game (UWW v. Wartburg)  The Warhawk qb seemed to hold on the ball too long that day.  Barber Greene is that his tendancy this year or just in the Wartburg game?

A lot of times he will pull the ball down and run. He is moderately mobile and can get a few yards when he runs. He took some sacks in the game but didn't throw any interceptions trying to make a play (which was a problem earlier in the season). I think in the game this Saturday it will be especially important not to turn the ball over so if he takes some sacks without turning it over then that would be OK for us.

Probably better than making a bad throw and having a turnover.   Personally, a sack is a sack for whatever reason.  I'll take a sack over a INT.  With the way the UWW defense plays, it makes more sense to take a sack.

What do I know but I have watched Donovan the past two weeks and me thinks he is much more accurate/comfortable with the rollout/play action boot game.  I do think his throwing shoulder is giving him trouble and I don't think he's super comfortable as a pocket passer.  He did surprise me with his feet and ability to pick up some yards when he pulls it down but I feel the straight drop passing game is not UWW's strong suit as an offense.

Again, that's only going off what I saw the past two weeks.

As far as ability to make plays with his feet how would you compare him to HSU's Feaster?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Donovan's not in the same class as Feaster in terms of Feaster's ability to buy more time by scrambling but Donovan has a superior line compared to HSU.

I guess what I'm saying about Donovan is that he's not going to be a game breaker with his scrambling ability but if you give him 10-15 yards to run he'll can and will get there.

Who cares what other people remember!  Fans are not always going to remember who got second place at the Stagg Bowl in '04... but I will.  It was important to me as a player.  Going to the Stagg Bowl and losing was a hell of a lot better than getting knocked out in the first round and just "making the playoffs."  No one is always going to remember who won the semi-final round vs. Mount Union in '04 when they were #1 in the country... but I will, because it was important to me.

No worries CrewAlum39.  I'll always remember that you guys took 2nd place in 2004!  ;)

Best of Luck this weekend.  I like the Cru's chances on Saturday.

We like to think that we just ran out of time!   ;)

I'm guessing that WC11 feels the same way about the 05 UWW/Linfield play-off game!   ;D

crualum39, i couldnt agree with you more.  i will remember that my son caught the only touchdown against uww 2 years ago despite the fact that they got stomped.  it mattered to us that wesley made it to the semis 2 years in a row, maybe not to anyone else.

i think bob's point is that is only matters to the people involved, not to the general fan.  most of us would have to look up who won the stagg in the years before mount started winning them, but i am sure that the teams involved can recite it in a nanosecond.

are we going to see you at the stagg?

Well, I think everyone there knows that given an extra minute on the clock that game may have well ended with a different outcome.  It didn't, but regardless of the loss, that '05 game is still the greatest game I've ever seen.

I don't think the 'Cru ever did lead during that Stagg Bowl...but they were close.  :)  I do hope there is a stream and I can watch these to excellent programs slug it out.

Crusader2011

I have to say, the upcoming game is making it REALLY hard for me to focus on finals. :P

I'm REALLY excited for this game. I know it will be a hard-fought game and that I'll be on edge the entire time. Our team wants this SO bad, and I know that they've got the focus and the drive to do it. We fought through this year without Quincy, and for a few weeks without Hurst and a few of our other starters. The fact that we've only lost one game throughout all of this is amazing to me. I have total confidence that our Cru will pull another one off!

If they don't...I might just go to Salem anyways.  :D

Bill McCabe

Crusader2011,  welcome to the board.  I hope we have a big crowd on Saturday.  I can't wait for it to get here either.  However, focus on your finals.  ;)

Little surprised/disappointed that Justin Feaster, the ASC Offensive Player of the Year and Gagliardi Trophy finalist, was left off the All Region Team...   :-\   :o

Josh, I agree with you.  I saw the 1st and 2nd team QBs play this year and in my opinion Feaster is better than both.

Keith Ricca was ODAC POTY for Catholic, which was "quad"-champ in the ODAC.

So many players, so few awards...  :-\

All things considered, I think that I would rather be a Gagliardi Finalist than 3rd team All-Region.

Maybe he will make the AFCA All-Region team.

W & J scores 7 on UMHB and they have 5 second teamers on offense. UMHB scores 63 on W & J and 46 on Wesley and they get only 2 on offense----- "Lucy you got some splaning to do".

Josh,

Feaster gets my vote as well.  I for one would like to see him win the Gagliardi Trophy.  He is most deserving of such an honor. (IMO)
