how many times can your starting RB get knocked unconscious only to put your 8th string guy in there?  apparently alot. . . . after watching the past two games  i don't see why teams aren't throwing the ball all over this cru secondary. small, slow, and weak in my opinion.
This was pretty funny.  Of course its  nice when as a team you've averaged 5.2 yds/ carry and have 5 rb with 200+ yds on the season and 4 with 500+ yds/  And lots of teams throw on the CRU, if their QB can escape the pressure up front like Feaster @ HSU.  Other wise they play a lot of football on their backs, at least thats what 109 tackles for loss and 36 sacks suggest to me.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

hsucowboyfan,
I do know from experience that Coach Fred. will have the team well prepared for this game.

The coackes at UMHB definitly want to be physical, and take away the run to make the other team one deminsional.

Huh good post Toby, hard to disagree with those stats!! BUUUUUTTTTTT I dont know about how much pressure there was for Feaster to avoid....a little maybe....but not much haha.  ;) ;) ;)

Most of us here at Mount Union think you'll handle UWW this weekend. Now, if MUC can beat Wheaton , that means we'll see you in the Stagg Bowl.

As a Mount fan, I'm not sure I agree with this statement. I really see the UWW - UMHB as a pick-em game. It looks to be a great one.

What I do agree with is that UMHB has placed themselves in the upper echelon as a perennial powerhouse in D3 football and a challenger for a national championship each year.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

I didn't see teh playoff game so I can't comment, but he ran a lot in the first game.  ;D  I'm also basing that on watching him all year long and doing it to every team he faced.  I guess that's one benefit of living in Abilene.

Maybe Pat can provide some insight. Just looked at the D3 Coach of the Year Nominees and am dissappointed Coach Fredeburg was not nominated.
Who makes these choices? With the attrition and all of the injuries UMHB has been through I think this is one of his finest coaching seasons and thought he should have been nominated.

It is Wednesday, and I wish it was Saturday already.  As a Cru fan I will speak my heart for yet a moment.   For the Cru to win the game we must dominate upfront on both sides of the ball, captilize on turnovers and stop, and I mean shut down the running game.  If the Warhawks think we are susptible to the pass then we will see.  However, I would like to remind everyone that we have seen a very good passer/scramble/great qb in Justin Feaster.  I belive that he is the best qb in the country.  (IMO) We need to start fast, and finish strong.  My perception is that when we do just that then we will win the game.  I do not care if we win 3-0, 2-0, we just need to win the game.  Period.

Now with all due respect, I know that our opponent is formidable, but they are vulnerable.  Here is why.  They have lost a game as well this year.  (That loss makes both teams humble) Home field advantage, National Championship on the line, and a chance to redeem (not revenge) a loss to the Warhawks in the previous three games.  I do not think that revenge needs to be the focus, the Alonzo Amos Stagg Bowl should be enough.  Just my thought... ;)

In our humility it should make us all the more hungry.  Steady my friends we are almost there...

Nor are two offenses on the field at the same time. Do you suppose the fact that UMHB had three first-teamers on defense and W&J had none was a factor here?

Do you know when the nomination deadline was and when the voting took place?
Apparently too soon in both cases!

Ya, that secondary that has a Pre-season All-American safety and 2 other juniors who have been playing at UMHB since their freshman year has to be horrible.

And if you're curious as to what kind of athletes play at UMHB, search for "Chad Cannon Sampler" on youtube and see what you find.  Talk about an athlete with total body control!!!
YOU KNOW IT!!!!

CruAlum39,

Yep that's why they only have 16 picks.  They're horrible.

another win for the cru, you deserved it. i mean, you only played the WORST teams on the way to the Stagg. seriously, how much easier can it get? well, its gonna be a whole nother story come this weekend against the warhawks. big, strong, and WHITE. the o-line is going to busy this weekend, busy picking Seanz up off his back. gonna be a long day against these cheese fed white boys. and how many times can your starting RB get knocked unconscious only to put your 8th string guy in there? apparently alot. the ISO ain't gonna work this week, Pete. Coach DKR once said "dance with one who brung ya". you can't dance with a date who can't see straight. after watching the past two games i don't see why teams aren't throwing the ball all over this cru secondary. small, slow, and weak in my opinion. a long ways away from the cru defenses of old. get your mind right cru. these boys will be your huckleberry.

What are you talking about?  Haven't played anyone?  We beat an HSU team that was ranked in the top 10.  We beat a Wesley team that has been to the 2nd or 3rd round nearly every season in like the last 5.  We beat a W&J team down after they throttled the #1 seed.  Who did you play that was ranked?  If anyone has had a tougher schedule in the post season, I haven't seen it.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

As a UWW fan, I have to say this is a well thought out post. I agree with it 100%. I'm looking for a great game Saturday between two great teams. Knowing the character of this UWW team, and reading the posts of the UMHB faithful, it is obvious to me that both of these teams will lay it all out for this one. What more could a football fan ever ask for? It is obvious these two programs have a great deal of respect for each other. I hope and believe that respect will only increase regardless of the outcome of Saturday's game. I truly believe both rosters are filled with great, dedicated young men, all of whom deserve our respect. May both teams play their best, remain injury free, and let the chips fall where they may.

What does white have anything to do about it?  And as far as "dance with the one who brung ya" comment... I guess it's pretty cool when you've got about 8 RB's who have "brung us."

And if the ISO ain't gonna work this week, that's ok, since we run the POWER about 10 times more.  O ya and don't forget  the OPTION and the dreaded OPTION PASS.

And this defense has given up one fewer point in the post-season than the defense that went to the Stagg in '04 did.  That's better right?!?

I gotta give it to him with the last sentance though.  One of my all-time favorite movies.
