Yeah, be sure and post the names up here, so the other coaches can try to steal them!   :D ;D; 8)

C'mon, now, Ralph. D3 coaches are above that sort of thing ... aren't they?  ;)

If they are academically eligible at HSU, they might be academically everywhere else, too.

That saves a lot of paperwork in the student-recruitment office!

I think the University of the Ozarks might disagree that HSU was the only original purple team.

I thought you had to wear purple to be one of the best teams in D3!  ;)

...and congrats on going to HSU.  Hope you can make the travel squad so you can see your 'Boys go down at Linfield in week 2. :)

Iam looking forward to it! It will be quite the honor to be on the field to see two very storied and proud programs face off against each other! Iam looking forward to it!

HSU Football Commit

oh yes to clarify on the LOI its just a piece of paper saying that you will be coming to HSU but its not a letter of intent that binds you to go to HSU so its not really a LOI its just a promise i guess if you have any integrity you wont go back on your word like that so its more like a promise.

HSU FOOTBALL COMMIT,

welcome aboard. As an HSU ALUM i can attest to the fact that you are in for an awesome experience at HSU. I wish you all the success and hope you make as many memories as I did. As for your prediction UMHB will also be back and looks pretty though but i'll have to agree with you. Should be a good year to be a cowboy.

Welcome to the board HSU Football Commit,

I was wondering, why did you commit to HSU over any other university. I assume you were recruited by HSU because of your talent level, which means most likely you could have picked any other ASC team or numerous other schools but choose HSU. As a grad of UMHB, I have asked this same question to UMHB players and got many different answers but since you are the first HSU player I have had contact with I thought I would ask you.

If you don't want to answer this question I understand (your answers might be personal or you might already dislike Crusaders haha) but I am too curious of a person to not ask.

Good luck as you finish high school and hopefully I will see you playing at Shelton Stadium next year.

I was recruited by alot of schools to be quite honest. I was recruited by just about every ASC team except for Mississippi College I was also recruited by T.C.U. and Texas State but because of me being only 6'0 260 i was never offered. I choose HSU due to the fact of the tradition that has been there over the years. I had it narrowed down to about three schools. UMHB, HSU, and HPU. I choose HSU because of the tradition. Also i feel in love with Abilene and the mascot being the cowboys. I have the utmost respect for UMHB and HPU i just choose HSU for those reasons.  I look forward to facing your crusaders it will be a challenge since yall have dominated the last few years.

Congrats on the commit and being a cowboy. My son comitted this year also and I agree about why you signed. My son fell in love with the school as well as the coaching staff. He told me "it just felt like a huge family". The only other schools to recruit him were HPU (still trying) SWB in Missouri and AC in Sherman. He won't be pulled away and his name is Jesse Latham. He played center for Lewisville, but they are talking about moving him to DE. He is 6'2" and 230 lbs.Good luck to you and we will probably meet up sometime late summer early fall.
