Graham Harrell signed a contract today with Saskatchewan of the CFL.  He gets to play with Jerrell Freeman and Justin Beaver.

My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Really, McMurry plans to videostream its home football games this year (as well as home men's and women's hoops and baseball.   ;)

With the technology at Tiger Stadium, we are lucky to get live stats for UMHB home games.

I was looking at the THSCA website referred to previously by Cru Info with regard to the Texas High School Coaches All-Star football game this Tuesday, July 21. This event is being held in Austin, TX in conjunction with THSCA's annual coaching convention from July 19-22. It also involves an all-star basketball  game on Monday night prior to the football all-star game on Tuesday night.

What I found interesting is that there are several football lectures spread out over the time period that the convention is being held. Pete Fredenburg, coach of UMHB's football program, is giving a lecture on UMHB football. He is in good company, because Mack Brown from University of Texas, Art Briles from Baylor, Bill Stewart from West Virginia, and David Cutcliffe from Duke are also giving football lectures.

That's a good way for UMHB to get exposure to possible recruits from Texas, because I'm sure there will be good attendance by high school coaches from across the state.

I am at the THSCA convention right now doing work with my part-time job.  There will probably be in excess of 11-12,000 coaches at the conference.  The total membership of the THSCA is over 19,000 coaches making it the largest high school coaching convention and organization in the country.

They always have lecturers of this quality and it is indeed an honor for Coach Fred to speak.

I would love to hear the highlights of the speech if you go roocru.

Less than 30 days until players report and only 55 days until the Cru takes the field  ;D

Sounds like the Rough Riders have realized you can find players in D3.  Hope that's a trend the rest of the CFL will follow.

Official registered attendance at the THSCA conference was 12,901 coaches.  It was up 249 from 2008 and set the record for coaching attendance.

Cru Info Update:
Some of my friends who are high school coaches around the state that played at UMHB were in attendance. They said he talked about the special relationship between high school coaches and college and university coaches across the state and how special a place UMHB is. He talked about how special D-III players are; playing football and going to school all while paying their own way (no scholarships!). He also talked about the offseason program at UMHB and what it takes to be a champion.

Thanks Cru Info for the highlights.

Only 48 days till the Cru hits the field, can't wait till for that kickoff or the D3football.com 2009 Kickoff either.

Also on a Jerrell Freeman update, he did not play in todays game for the Saskatchewan Roughriders as he was on the injured list. I cannot locate what the injury is but I sure hope it is nothing serious since he was off to a good start.

48 days?!?!!!! I'm starting to twitch
