Thanks for the reminder about the Pick'ems, I almost forgot and I don't think roocru will want to save me again like he did last year.

Also saw this on the WIAC board and though it was interesting. It is a map of all the DIII schools and shows how empty it is in our neck of the woods.

Someone needs to put a big red X through Colorado College.   >:(

That might help explain why UMHB spent the most in 2007.

crufootball

Haha it certainly did not help us save money.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a UW-Whitewater fan, he was saying that he loved traveling to watch the team play but did not enjoy the long drives. So I asked how long the drives were and he said 3 or 4 hours and I laughed thinking that would be one of our short trips.

Let him join me this fall 7+ to Oklahoma City; 6 to Abilene; 4 1/2 to Brownwood; 8 to Clinton MS; 2:45 to all home games with Seguin being the shortest at 2 hours.
Thank goodness for XM ;D

Given the times let me guess...You in Houston?
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

The sad thing is that it will be over before you know it.

Here is a post that was written by one on the baseball dads.

Hey CRU Dad, understand the long travel from New Orleans each week, however thankful for the opportunity and resources that made it possible. I will be following the team closely this year from home, but plan to meet up with you guys at MC. Maybe we can meet up for lunch or dinner after.

Ralph, I understand the baseball dads feelings, just 4 years ago Aug 05, we drop our  son off in Belton, played 4 years, graduated, got married. WOW...weekend are going to be a little different.

You got that right!!!  ;D
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Haven't been able to post in a while, but business (oil) is slower and allowed to get back on the site from the office (IT relaxed the rules).

Really excited about the new coach at McM.  I know he has a past but looking for him to change the culture.  I know he has done a great job in communicating with the alumni football players.  Looking forward to meeting him over this year.

Trinity is probably too good for this week but I think it will be an exciting season for McM.

Crubdad - My son graduated a couple of years ago from McM.  My wife and I missed 2 games over the 4 years (sent my mom to 1 and made a JV game for another).  We loved the away games, most are a lot closer to Houston.  Looking back, you will never complain about the many hours on the road because you will have the memories forever.  Now we get invited to all his teammates weddings and feel good to be part of McM.

I am looking for several wins from McM this year.  Not planning on seeing a win this week.

Still proud to be associated with McM.

Don't get me wrong I am not complaining as we have enjoyed this experience, except for the injuries, of our 5 years at UMHB. We have met many people we consider new friends and the time has flown by. Can't believe his last year is here. Not really looking forward to the last game, hopefully in Salem, as I have seen 1st hand how sad it is for the players and parents.

Is this who I think it is? How are the newly weds? I still have your cell number and will touch base with you before the MC game. Since I have family in MS we will have a big tailgate before the game and we will probably stay over on Saturday night as well so we can do dinner and catch up.

That is the beauty of D3 IMHO. We sit around a lot of parents whose kids have used up their eligibility and they are still following the program. I was not necessarily complaining but comparing our drives in TX to Wisconsin. Good luck with the new coach, except 9/26 ;)
