I am looking forward to my trip north to Oregon to see the game.  I will be in the right mind frame as I am meeting with some HSU grads at Busters in Tigard before the game.  Busters is all about Texas BQ.

CalHSU,

You are going to come all the way up to the Portland metro area you should just wait on eating till you get into McMinnville.  Hit the Golden Valley Brew pub for some great food and drink.  They have a great selection of brews that are made on site and all of their beef comes right from a ranch they own outside of Mac.

This is a true PacNW Brew Pub http://www.goldenvalleybrewery.com/

BTW...weather report has changed a little and the Portland area is expecting a high of 90 on Saturday.

That type of weather makes Texas boys soft.  Linfield could have an advantage.  ;)
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Crap...I don't know who to believe...I just checked the Accuweather report and we could have record breaking heat in the McMinnville

Accuweather.com , High: 101°F RealFeel®: 99°F,
Very hot with the temperature breaking the record of 94 set in 1929 with blazing sunshine

That dry heat will feel good to those Texas boys who live in the more humid portions of the state.  It is quite refreshing for perspiration to evaporate and cool the skin.   ;D

If it's record breaking heat, advantage Cowboys.  101, that's a cool day in July and August.

Toby  you have met 11, trust me on this one

Wildcatt 11     I didn't pick Busters,  friends from Tigard did.   And about the pub thing.  HSU trainned me  to be Southern Baptist pastor and  pubs are not normally my first choice.  Having lived in the the northwest during high school  I know that the pub scence is not all crazy but still not my first pick.   Of course I remember that Linfield was an American Baptist( excuse me if that has changed) school which has different attitudes about things.  All I care about is getting some good BQ.   Oh that an seeing some good football.
It has been over 30 years since I lived in Abilene,  is that BQ place still open out side of town?

calhsu

Also thanks for the weather preview.  The only thing I have to wear with HSU on it is a gold tee shirt and I was thinking I might get cold in the northwest.

Which BBq place?  Harold's is still there on Walnut.  Of course 30 yrs ago it may have still been his dad's place.

I am very interested to see Noack be the full time starter, he was very sharp in his four games last year but as he said its much different when you are the man.

Also UMHB released its game notes. http://www.cruathletics.com/news/2009/9/10/FB_0910092732.aspx?path=football

An article about UMHB QB Kyle Noack.

Good article. I think he is a better runner and more accurate passer than Saenz. Look forward to seeing him in action tomorrow in OK City.

All I remember was that the place was way off campus, close to where we played men's basketball.  (couldn't play on campus the HSU gym was not big enough for DI  of the Harvey Catching, and Stedman Graham days) they play at the Taylor County Col. back then.
