This board is for talking about ASC football.

It is. Your continued use of it as smack talk does have a lot of people bent out of shape, and rightly so. I would suggest you watch yourself, since you've already been warned.

I am wondering about our back up QB, I have not been able to watch the Cru this year, but I am wondering about how we utilize him in our offense.  Does Bailey give us a change-up to Noack?  (Both are gifted players by what I have heard around UMHB, and read here on the board).  Or, is he used more like a wildcat formation QB/RB for our offense?  I am very excited about what he brings to the table this year. Any insights would be appreciated.

Big games this week all across the ASC, I pray for no more major injuries.

Never been more proud to be a D3 fan than last night with Garcon going the distance for the Colts!  Congrats to Garcon, Mount Union, and D3 we all won last night!

I have been to both games and Bailey runs the offense very similar to Noack. I think Noack has a better handle on running the option, knowing when to keep or pitch, than Bailey. That is a learned skill. I have not seen them run any Wildcat formations but he will tuck it and run. Both are throwing the ball very accurately thru 2 games. So far I like what I see.

So far LiDarral Bailey has only been a change up and to my knowledge he has not been on the field at the same time as Noack and I hope this does not change. With the tools the Cru offense has I do not think we need to try and get sneaky and use a wildcat formation.

Sounds like he will make a great contribution both throwing and running this year.  I am hoping to see a game later in the year, until then, I will be listening/watching via internet.

You are correct Noack and LD have not been on the field at the same time. LD has probably played more than Noack at this point, since Coach Fred does a good job of emptying his bench in these blowouts.

I am glad that he is getting so much game day experience.  This only helps our offense as the year goes on.  Thanks for the insight crudbdad!

Having quality/experienced back ups are a huge plus in the playoffs...or even in the regular season as so many teams have already experienced this year. Not just on the D3 level but on all levels. I think that has always been a strength of UMHB's...for the most part the no.2's get just as many reps as the no. 1's...so when the time comes for a no. 2 guy to step up he is ready. I recall the past few season UMHB rotating their no. 1 and no. 2 offensive lines regardless of the score...this not only helps give the no. 1's a breather..but it gets the young guys the experience they need.  Having 10 offensive lineman that can pound on a 6 man d-lineman rotation is a huge advantage, 3 great RB's, etc. etc. With as many key players that got hurt last year the Cru was still able to go deep in the playoffs. There's always someone standing in your shadow waiting for their chance at the spot light. Can't wait to UMHB play this weekend. Go Cru!!!
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

Just drove past McMurry on the way home from HEB.  They were practicing the run game.  What a perfect evening for practice.  A light breeze, temps about 67 or 68, partly cloudy.  beautiful
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Willing to take Yessir for 10 days over on any Oregon board for ya'll.
We can all reminisce about the Stagg Bowl and Southern Oregon University. Also, the merit of Mount Union, St Johns, Whitewater and another school having any rings at all.   8)

Everyone please post today and get off page 666.

I'll see if I can help.
Don't recall seeing any/many Louisiana College posters here but if there are any and you are headed to Alabama this weekend have a safe trip. Looking forward to a good game. Hopefully the weather will dry out some and both teams will play their best and we'll see how it comes out.

Go Hawks!

Was that the last 5 minutes of practice?   :D  Coach Mumme likes to throw the ball.

Hadn't heard. :)

Perhaps it was the scout team.
