First I must say that I love this, its not even the week of the HSU-UMHB game and the chatter has already began.

On another note, there was an interesting article where Coach Pete makes clear there is no QB controversy. http://www.tdtnews.com/story/2009/9/22/60805

My favorite line in the story was the writer calling McMurry "the team formerly known as the Indians" like they were Prince or something. Is the term "The Nation" catching on in Abilene?

Bailey is going to be a stud.  He throws well, is very fast, and runs the option well.  He will be real threat.  I also thought Noack looked very good against TLU.  He reminds me of the 2004 QB.  :D
Padron or Welch?

Hadn't heard. :)

Perhaps it was the scout team.

Learning the next opponents plays!!! ;D
what i saw didn't look like anything i've seen UMHB run against them before.  The play only went for a yard or two.   ;D
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Willing to take Yessir for 10 days over on any Oregon board for ya'll.
We can all reminisce about the Stagg Bowl and Southern Oregon University. Also, the merit of Mount Union, St Johns, Whitewater and another school having any rings at all.   8)

Everyone please post today and get off page 666.

Ive been to Oregon a time or two...very nice. I have much respect for all the teams you've mentioned (Can't speak for SOU)...never had the pleasure of playing them guys.  Willamete always played us really close for the most part...Linfield was well coached and very talented and beat us in the Stagg Bowl...Never got the opportunity to play UW-W but i've been to Wisconsin twice for games and I can't think of a bad thing to say about UW-W other than one time it was really really cold...Mount Union...who doesn't respect them guys...For the most part im a fan of every team as long as their not playing UMHB or are the....never mind.  Whats the word on Sul Ross this year...I always wondered what their pitch was to get guys to come play down there. There was a guy from my hometown who went there to play.  I thought there for a while they were back on the come up with some solid seasons...but seem to be back down with a 0-3 start. Any Sully fans on the boards....
Walking on thin ice cuz someone lost......again.

Wow, every person has picked MC over HSU in pickems. They are either going to make us all look foolish for doubting them or be 1-3 which is crazy to think about.

What is the injury report on Feaster ?  I heard he came in late last week.  Will he be ready to roll this week ?

they put him in late, but he wasn't effective.  his accuracy is off.  I haven't heard anything about this weekend yet, but i have to think after last week feaster should be sitting.

Saw my boyhood hero, Archie Manning, talking about this on the Tony Barnhart Show on CBS College Sports channel. Click on the link below, surely we have a coach in the ASC that fits the criteria. Winner in each division gets $50,000 donated to a charity of their choice and $20,000 to the schools alumni group.
Award is based on on and off field accomplishments. I am in the dark here as a UMHB parent I only pay attention to one kid's academic success which is part of the criteria. Take a look.

Thanks, of course I'm a Crusader fan.  ;)  That said, I do hope they get over the injury bug and play like they can.  Just kind of sucks that the meat of the schedule is early when they have the injuries.

I just hope the Crusaders can stay focused this year on the task at hand. One week at a time, just another step in the 15 week journey.

Keep stirring the coals  :o

@d3jason

I am looking forward to traveling to Abilene next weekend to take in the UMHB/HSU and the McMurry/ETBU games. For those of you that don't know me (Jason Bowen), I write the Around the South column for the site. I am looking forward to meeting those of you that post and will be at either game. Should be a great day of football! Thanks to Ralph Turner and McMurry for setting it up.

Who really thought at the beginning of the season that this might be HSUs biggest game.
