Not sure what's wrong with him but he was never even in pads

Just got back from the game.
McM Coach was mad at his players for not executing just like always, only difference was that McM was ahead by 20 points instead of down 20 at the time with only a couple of minutes to play.

The highly tauted offense was not really hitting on all cylinders and still figured out how to score 36 points with some big plays.  Pretty good wind blowing and the QB faced a strong pash rush all day and you could tell they never got in a good rhythm all day.

The defense had 5 picks and although they gave up some yards, they were the difference in today's game.

I was impressed with the effort of the TLU team, making several good drives and forcing the McM team to never feel fully
in control until the last 5-6 minutes.  TLU's defensive line kept a lot of pressure on the QB all day.

Instead of getting to enjoy a 4 game win streak this week (off next week with HSU in 2 weeks), I think the team is going to have some pretty tough practices this week.

So I'm not really sure what to say about the SOU game.  The defense dominated SOU, but the offense looked sketchy except for Bryson Tucker who looked like he'd been taking snaps all season @ tail back.  Things I liked, seeing Bailey pitch the ball;  Seeing (and hearing the crack on the 22nd row on the opposite side of the field) Bryson Tucker get hit by the safety, reverse field, stiff arm a defender to get the corner and go 90 for the td; and watching the defense play as hard as I have ever seen them play.  Things I wasn't keen on, Bailey pulling up to throw on a few occasions with the receiver covered and 10 yds of open field in front of him, Munoz missing field goals.  Sitting on Row 22.

All in all it was a win on a very windy day.  It was ugly, but a win none-the-less, and Tucker looked like he hadn't missed a beat at RB.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

From my previous post, it is hard to tell I was excited as heck about the McM win against TLU.  But I don't think I saw anything close to the potential of the team.  McM had some dumb penalties in all 3 phases of the game that prevented the game from being a blowout.  The good thing was that the coaches saw and said the same thing during the gam

I really enjoyed seeing the support of both the parents of the players and of the alumni.  If you exclude the TLU band, McM had more fans in the stands than TLU did.  6 years ago, I bought 20 programs and gave them to everyone on the McM side of the stands.  Funny what a few wins will do for fan support.

My son and I will be at the HSU game in 2 weeks where McM is going to beat HSU for the first time in what seems a lifetime.

I have also noticed a substantial drop in the posts since HSU and MHB have lost a game.  Most of the MHB posts have been about the change in QB.

You're right!

It has been a lifetime.  The last (and only) McMurry coach to defeat HSU is Grant Teaff, and JFK was President.

Yeah, it was rediculous.  I mean, we NEED BTuck on D.  We must have QD and DM back for the playoffs if we expect to win. And LD needs to figure some things out.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Proudmcmdad,
I have to agree as long as the OC keeps calling the offense like he has been. If the offensive game plan continues McM will win. I went to the game at SR and I think the way the Lobo defense played was exactly what you have to do against the Cowboys offense, they just didnt have the players to make the plays. If I didnt know any better I would almost say HSU is playing for next year! :-X

Well, although we did not play well on offense this week, we did do something that neither Linfield nor Willamette could do against Southern Oregon-we held them scoreless. That has to say something about our D!

Go Cru! Finish strong!
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

there is nothing wrong with the Cru defense.  i think the dbs are the best i've seen @mhb

Proud - MCM plays HSU tough but doesn't win the game. HSU by a TD

Bombscott - where is your sense of team pride? HSU is playing for this week not next year. You are insane if you think HSU doesn't intend on winning the rest of the games they have to play. I for one hope HSU comes out strong and silences some of the naysayers. You guys are just like Dallas Cowboy fans... Happy when we win, deserters when the chips are down. SHAME SHAME SHAME.

PLAY HARD COWBOYS.

Ralph - at least if MCM plays HSU tough we can put the rivalry back in the cross town show down. I remember all the trash talk when i was in school and how close MCM came to sealing the deal. Good luck to both sides

GO COWBOYS

That is what I meant.  I was comparing our D to two teams that WERE undefeated and one top 10 team.  That has to say a lot about us getting into the playoffs, if we can win out that is.

Hey now. I am just calling it like I see it. I think sometimes when you are not a former player or student you can see things more objectively. As for using the phrase that I am insane if I think HSU doesnt "intend" on winning, shall I refresh your memory to 3:19 of the archived broadcast of the MC college game. I think that says it all. You can find that at http://secure.stretchinternet.com/archive.php?user=hsu&event_id=60014

That is the second time I have seen this referenced like Wartes was slighting our team. Apparently some people have some agendas against our coaches, but I guarantee you they are fighting just as hard right now to win as they were in week 9 of last year or any year for that matter.

The direct quote was
Nobody, nobody had any intentions not to win. We came in and played hard and it just did not work out for us in the end.
