According to the article, Coach George took over the game day duties of Coach Pete but I heard during the week that Coach Harmon was also taking some of the duties.

UMHB was also missing another person for the UMHB-HPU game and that was SID Jon Wallin who previously had been to all 136 UMHB football games. Jon had to stay in Belton while UMHB was hosting the ASC Men's Soccer tournament.

I am not sure if Jon read this but if he does I would like to thank you for all that you do covering all of the UMHB teams.

Speaking of which -- after two halves and two OT's of scoreless futball, HSU prevailed 4-2 in PK's to win the ASC championship.
Congrats to HSU's men's and women's futball teams for their respective championships.
Except for the shootout, for those who do not appreciate the finer points of futball, it must have been like watching paint drying!
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

What I saw of the game - first off congrats to the Cowboys on playing a full football game. First half McM was able to protct the QB and was able to move the ball into a stiff breeze, then HSU brought the heat for the final half and the line was not able to hold their blocks kong enough to let the routes develop. I think McM still has work to do in the off-season and an O-line will be something that Mumme will focus on.  Again cngrats to HSU, #11 made some great catches and #20 ran the ball and contolled the clock, they did what they needed to do at the end of the game to win! Sorry don't know the names but remembered their performances!!

Win the last game McM, let it propel you into the off-season, one more game for the senior, thank you for your hard work and leadersip on helping this season to be differen then the past few!! "what ya say TRIBE". Ala Cumba!!

UMHB men got a pool C bid and will play UMHB HSU in the first round of the NCAAs this week, winner to Trinity on Sunday.  UMHB won at TU 2-1 early in the season (Trinity's only loss in the regular season), HSU lost at home to TU 4-0 a week or two later.

Glad to see the Texas sub-bracket is not just a football thing  ;)

Judging from the two previous UMHB-HSU soccer games, this should be another great battle between the two schools.

Just saw that TLU coach Dennis Parker is resigning at the end of the season, wonder what the chances are his players can send him out on a big upset?

Maybe TLU goat can lead the way haha, at least I think that was his name was.

I'll be at the UMHB game Saturday.  My plan is to tailgate around noon.  Anyone want to join me?  I'll be making food to share.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Would like to do it. Right now some of the parents of seniors have tentative plans to tailgate as well. Let me know where you will be. We normally get on the front row of the parking lot. There is a group that meets over by the elementary school as well, but we have been late in arrival each Saturday for that. Since this is probably the last trip to Tiger Stadium I plan on getting there 11:00 ish depending on time management skills of my better half ;D

Last time I set up in the front parking lot back by the grass strip between the 2 lots.  Plenty of space there and It's easier to get out after the game.  If we go to Killeen on Friday instead of saturday AM, I'll be there around 11.  If we leave abilene Saturday it'll be closer to 12.  Right now the menu plan is sausage wraps (in home made tortillas), bbq chicken legs (featuring my personal chipotle BBQ sauce), some form of smoked pork, a rice dish, and chips.  leftovers will be taken into the stands for game time snacks.  I'm going to be at the game by myself (unless a friend decides to come as well) and will probably have enough food to feed a few families.

Hello Hayden,

You called McMurry's hiring Hal Mumme early.

Who are you hearing?

Judging from the two previous UMHB-HSU soccer games, this should be another great battle between the two schools.

If the ASC were split into 2 full conferences, UOzarks or someone else would have gotten an NCAA bid, plus the Pool C bid, and we would not have had to change the regular season schedule as single game.

So other than D3football.com, AFCA, Laz Index, Born Power, and Atomic Football does anybody know of a ranking system for D3 football.

I am a numbers and stats junkie so forgive for wanting a 6th or 7th ranking system  ;D
