What does anyone know about Central and Huntington?
Central and UMHB appear to be mirror images of each other with very similar stats.  UMHB has slightly better stats, but Central has a tougher SOS, evening things out pretty well.  Should be a great game with both teams having talented running offenses going against superb rushing defenses.  I think the special teams play could be the difference in this one.  If the ball bounces our way a few times, that wouldn't hurt either!

Safe travels to Pella, welcome one and all.  Stop by Jaarsma's bakery before the game, for some nice tailgating treats.

Just Curious how is central's SOS tougher? I would think UMHB has more competition in the ASC and plays a tougher schedule. Aside from Central your conference only has 2 teams with winning seasons. How is that a tougher SOS? What am i missing? Good luck Cru and MC.
Just going by d3football's SOS information.  I know nothing about your team or your competition.  Not meaning to dis anyone, just trying to figure out how they will match up and this is how I see it.  Our two non-conference games were against another playoff team, that admitedly wasn't that strong and UW-Steven's Point.

Central wasn't in the playoffs last year, but that just made the guys more focused this year.  We aren't strangers to the playoffs either and, though it is ancient history, we have been to the Stagg Bowl 3 times, winning it once in the early years when we were one of only 4 teams invited to the playoffs.  I don't know that we have anything to prove to anyone but ourselves.  Well, there is Wartburg's footballdaddy on the IIAC board.   :)  And I think Linfield would like to prove something to us...

This is the ONE time of Year i root for UMHB (although i usually wait till the second round since the first round often includes an HSU Vs UMHB rematch) As an HSU grad i root for whoever in the ASC is still alive and kicking in the playoffs. Just looking at the other teams records in you conference and your out of conference wins aren't that impressive. However you have been putting the beat down on your in conference opponents. Should be a good high scoring matchup. I think the comment about having something to prove refered to the fact that no game would be a cake walk. Everyone in the playoff's is there becasue they are good. Good luck to both teams this weekend. Go CRU.

Not really but if Linfield beats Cal Lu I'm looking forward to hosting either of these fine programs.

Anyone coming to Pella should stop at the bakeries in town for some of the sweets.  They are really good.  If you want a good place to stay the Royal Amsterdam is a good place its right in town.  Good luck to you and have safe travels.  Wish I could be there for the game but an earlier commitment keeps from coming.

Thank you,  Pat!  Again we prove that the D3Football fans know more than the NCAA "officials".

Seriously does the NCAA try and think of a new way each year to amaze me with their stupidity? How can you not seed a playoff bracket???

Remember, we're talking about the NCAA!   :D

Does anyone know if the game will have a video cast?

I think it's time for you and Keith to organize a coup. We may have a big enough fan base to overthrow DIII...

Central normally has a webcast of the games at www.central.edu/athletics.  As long as there are no NCAA rules against it, I don't know why they wouldn't have this one.  I think last year was the first year of webcasting at Central and we didn't make the playoffs, so I can't say for sure.

I have confirmation from Al Dorenkam, the AD I believe.  Anyways, there will be a webcast.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

Ron Boerger

This should be a good game.  Glad there is going to be video available!

CruAlum58

Im interested how big the offensive and defensive lineman are for Central... They have to be able to move pretty well to handle the team speed of UMHB. One game at a time Cru.... Get this one, then get some revenge on Linfield.   :'(

Gotta love the playoffs!!! Was always my favorite time as a player.....
