Best of luck the rest of the way.  Hope you get another chance to play a team from our conference in the regional finals.  Welcome to the West, but don't come back.   ;D

Thanks and no offense taken.  ;)

It is so good to have MissCollege and UMHB in opposite sides of the bracket, even if it meant being on the road for both games.

Congratulations to UMHB.  Your team is exactly as you described them.  They played a great game.

Now Klompen, Iowa hasn't really been west since the 1800's.  ;D  I've enjoyed the banter this week
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Congrats to UMHB today. Good job getting a huge lead, just need to keep making plays. Now they can work on getting better... Revenge in McMinnville.

Congrats to Mississippi College on the win today. MC took advantage of our mistakes getting TD's on two first quarter turnovers and aside from a few dropped passes MC just didn't make any mistakes for us to take advantage of. If we could have gotten the TD there at the end of the first half to cut it to 7 maybe it would've been a different game. Keeping us from scoring there then taking the opening drive of the 2nd half for a TD to get back to a 21 point lead was huge. Our defense pretty much didn't have any answers to MC's passing game all day.
Good game and good luck the rest of the way.

As a guy who follows mostly Great Lakes region D3 football and now lives in the South, I wanted to say Mississippi College really impressed me today. I loved the fact that I could watch their game on the computer while listening to some of the other games around the country. Kudos to MC on the webcast it was wonderful. Also kudos to MC and Huntingdon as they both played hard and made it exciting. Sadly for Huntingdon every time they would start to come back MC just put it into another gear. Great game and I am onboard for a few more like it! Oh, also congratulations to UMHB, they play some of the most exciting football in the country and it was a blast just to listen.
A fan of good football - wherever it may be found.

Revenge in McMinnville.

Looking forward to it.  It should be like old time!   :)

Bill McCabe

Congratulations to both UMHB and MC.  I hope they both have deep runs in the playoffs.

Late in the 4th quarter, UMHB had 3rd and about a foot to go for a first down and they threw deep.  Can someone explain that decision.  A first down and we probably aren't biting our nails.  I about fell out of my chair when I saw Bailey throwing.

I don't know, Bill,  Crack induced stupor?  If the Cru had lost, that would have been where I pointed as the point of collapse.  A first down there and their starting the buses.  Just looked Central took the punt after that throw with less than 5 minutes left in the game.  I'm going to assume a coach called the play trying to catch Central stacking the line, but the O-line was having its way with the D-line all game why not a QB sneak up the gut?  I also don't think Bailey was the right person to have in at QB at that point in the game.  I like Bailey as a player, but he did the same thing yesterday that he did in Clinton, he became predictable and the D started teeing off on him because he's really not that big of a threat with his arm.  I wish Noack could run the option better (it seems like he ran it well last season, what happened?) but if I had to pick my poison, I'd pick Noack in crunch time because Bailey seems to either call his number too often, or make the pitch so close to the sideline that the RB has very little space to run.  QD did a great job of tiptoeing down the side lines yesterday, but what could he have done if the pitch came with some space?  Pitching late with no field left to run negates some of the effectiveness of the team speed.  (RANT OVER)

The Noack vs Bailey question may be "seasoned veteran versus wild impetuous freshman".

If Bailey can gain some maturity, then he is a threat to be feared for the next three years in the ASC.  (We are assuming that he "called" that pass play.)  If that was his teachable moment, then we can see if he learned something.

As I followed the LiveStats, that game's momentum looked like a 3-touchdown smackdown to give one the impression of a return of the dominant 2004 team.

That fourth quarter may be the mental conditioning that the CRU needs to go to McMinnville.

Read Dutch Radio's comments in the IIAC board.  he basically said that Central received a gift to get back in the game and specifically mentioned not getting the Bailey play.  I don't necessarily think Bailey called the play there.  I'm inclined to think that the coaches were trying to catch Central stacking things up, but I personally would rather have Noack in there making that play.  I think it is a maturity vs impetuousness thing.  Bailey's going to be a force at QB for the next 3 years, if he can develop a little unpredictability in executing the option game there will be much less tension from me.  I think this game will show the Cru that in the playoffs every game is a 4 qtr game.  Once you step on their necks, you have to keep stomping.

wesleydad

hey all my cru friends, need a little insight on mississippi college since they are wesely's next opponent.  looking at the game stats from yesterday, they look like they have a balanced attack and stop the run pretty well.  That was a lot of yardage given up to the pass, but I would figure that Huntington was passing more since they were trailing much of the game.

Also, congrats on your win yesterday, maybe, just maybe, we will see each other at the stagg and both have a team to really cheer for.  good luck this week against linfield.
