Fascinating.  For the year 2008, the most recent year available - football spending:

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor   TX   974833 (#2)
East Texas Baptist University   TX   589888 (#6)
Louisiana College   LA   532123 (#10)
Texas Lutheran University   TX   530765 (#11)
Hardin-Simmons University   TX   515000 (#13)
Mississippi College   MS   491677 (#21)
Howard Payne University   TX   457237 (#30)
McMurry University   TX   440394 (#39)
Sul Ross State University   TX   134094 (#221)

Some SCAC schools for comparison:

Birmingham Southern College   AL   1190265 (#1)
Millsaps College   MS   591682 (#5)
DePauw University   IN   511341 (#14)
Trinity University   TX   361692 (#84)
Colorado College   CO   309575 (#134)
Austin College   TX   291022 (#142)

B-SC and UMHB were #1 and #2 by a significant margin.  #3 was St. Vincent College ($600K).

Both are pretty easy to find.  harold's is @ North 13th and Walnut, oe block off Pine and HSU is on Pine about 9 blocks away.  PM me just before teh game and I'll send you directions and my cell #.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Unless the numbers are compiled the same, you are comparing apples to oranges.
At Sul Ross the coaches teach. At UMHB none of the coaches teach.

I would imagine that the Department of Education does its best to ensure the numbers are consistent.

Its in the air!  Went to HEB @ 615 this morning and the lights were on @ McMurry's Wilford Moore Stadium.  Article about starting camp in today's reporter news.  I am ready for kick off baby

Ditto, Toby, it is indeed in the air!

LC players reported yesterday. First practice this afternoon. Among the players reporting are three players from my son's high school: Terrance Dorsey, James Woods and Torrey Boggs.

What do the coaches at SRS teach and does anyone know if that is a common practice for the ASC schools?

If y'all want some info on what's going on @ McM check out today's abilene reporter news @ http://www.reporternews.com.  There's an article on Stephen Warren's transfer to McM.  Warren was the QB at Abilene High for the 08-09 season and is the son of AHS head coach Steve Warren.

question

Every year I look at the McMurry roster to start the season.  There was a RB named Justin Johnson a transfer from ACU.  I think this was the same kid from Gilmer who orginally signed with Oklahoma.  He was a top  100 recruit a couple years ago.  I was just wandering if that is the same kid. I also saw that the first team all conference WR did not return.

very interesting...i was surprise to see UWW so far down the list.

State schools usually have great facilities, but being funded by states, have lower budgets.
