This UMHB HSU game may be the best game since those early in the last decade, as other posters have mentioned.

UMHB will have a tough time if they can't throw the ball a little.  This reminds me of the 2004 game and it was also played in Belton.
And the Cru got rolled...

What about the MCM and Texas Baptist game this weekend. Any comments on how you think the game may go?
I think McM will probably score a lot of points and win.  Wouldn't surprise me if it was by 2 or more tds
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Without a doubt McMurry is the favored team this weekend in Marshall.  ETBU has struggled tremendously at finishing drives.  They have had no problem getting across midfield and around the redzone and in it, but once there, they struggle to finish.  Not having a healthy kicker the last two weeks has really hampered them believe it or not.

Which game was that? The game I looked up from 2004 in November, I believe, was a UMHB win.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

The November game was Round 2 and was in Abilene, the first game was Homecoming for the Cru (I think) and the Cowboys did beat the Cru badly.

If you look at both stats its crazy to think of a time when UMHB threw the ball over 30 times as we did in the loss. The second game is much closer to what probably need to be able to do on Saturday in order to win going 10-17 passing to keep the defense honest.

It was the 1st game.  i remember getting to the game and people were wearing t-shirts that were a bit disrespectful of HSU and then got handed their butts.  The November game was almost exactly the opposite

UMHB has not done well when we make t-shirts for a certain game, other than Homecoming I guess, because shirt were made for the Whitewater game in the playoffs in 2008 and they handed us our butts as well.

UMHB, please listen to me, "just say no to any t-shirt for this game."  I thought it was a bad idea then, and I haven't changed my mind.  At the end of the 2004 game, many t-shirts went into the trash can outside the stadium.  Right where they needed to be. Show up, scream loud, and wear normal fan attire.

Its ok most of the players for HSU were underclassmen in high school or in JR High the last time they beat UMHB which was in 2004.

It will be a battle and UMHB better come to play or HSU will win. The reason UMHB threw over 30 times is because we got down early. That is not or has it ever been UMHB mo to win a football game.

Well, I guess since HSU and UMHB are playing this week, there will be no banter about any other games since this board is all about two teams and little bit about McMurry.  Don't get me wrong, it is well deserved.  These have clearly been the best two teams in the league since its inception.  I'll give a little insight on one of the other games this week.  The "Non-Texas" Bowl takes place this week in Clinton when LC and MC face off at Robinson-Hale Stadium.  Since neither team is from the large state, I guess we won't have to worry about Players of the Week in this game, but there should be some fireworks after both teams combined for 98 points in Pineville last year.

LC is a dangerous team!  They are 0-2 and most people picked them to be a darkhorse to win this conference.  The great thing for them is, they still control their own destiny after a bye week last week.  I'm sure the Wildcats are hungry for their first win of the season and try to break the three-game losing streak to the Choctaws.  As a side note, since the series resumed in 2000, neither team has had a winning streak against each other of less than three games.

MC is ready to get back on the field and prove they deserved that preseason ranking they received from the pollsters.  Over the last two games, the Choctaws have turned the ball over eight times.  They got away with it in the win over Belhaven, but HSU exploited the mistakes for the win.  Steven Knight is expected to play and will team up with Austin Divinity, who has filled in with back-to-back weeks of over 80 yards on the ground.  The defense had a hiccup last week, but had only allowed a total of 37 points through the first two games.

I'm excited to see how this one turns out.  The past three seasons have seen the Choctaws jump out to leads only to see LC come back and make all three games into thrillers.  Both teams can be very explosive!

So even though neither one of these teams has a "Hardin" in its name, it should be exciting.  MC will provide live video accompanied by live stats on GameCentral.  http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/mc.portal#
Thanks for posting.  It's always nice to have someone from another school chatting up their program.  I don't chat up MC or LC the other ASC schools because i'm nowhere close and have no frame of reference.  On the other hand, I live in Abilene, have degrees from UMHB and HSU, and live within walking distance of McM so I see all 3 play quite a bit and listen to the coaches shows while driving for work, so that's who i talk about.  I'd actually like to hear more about other programs.

News flash people...UMHB has done just fine in beating the Cowboys...why do you all of a sudden think thy forgot how to. Every year Festers gonna do this blah blah blah...secondary's young blah blah blah. And every year UMHB handles business...why y'all all of a sudden think they forgot how to win is beyond me...sounds more like dreams than reality if your ask me!!! I don't think...How UMHB is gonna win should be the question!! The question is...now that HSU is back to normal...does that mean UMHB will be their only lose this season...like normal!!
