LC 45  MC 42 final  LC scores winning TD on a 19 yard pass from McGloughlin to Parker with 24 seconds left in the game.

MC is playing has been playing without All-America tailback Steven Knight, and his All-ASC backup Austin Divinity. It would not have mattered much last week with HSU's dominance, but it didn't help today. Injuries are part of it unfortunately, as HSU learned last year.

I agrees DSC...HSU is a great team...if it wasn't for the idiotic fans who don't respect the Cru you wouldn't be subjected To my trash talking. But when you have fans who say UMHB is done, and they have to find a way to win...blah blah blah!! That is why I trash talk...start respecting what UMHB has done and is doing and it won't be rubbed in your face every time I get a chance. Until then...soak in the loss guys!!

Yessir, you are a "class act." ::)

You shouldn't take things so "personal."  Just be glad your team won...and "is not done."  You should be happy!  You are probably young and if so, I can guarantee that worse things will happen during your lifetime!

Enjoy!

Very entertaining ballgame.  The Cru simply dominated the line of scrimmage and the 439 yards rushing is proof.

I must say I did not expect that.  After the way the Cru played last week I struggled with my pick but picked HSU.  I'm so glad I was wrong.

There were still some stupid penalties, but it was much improved. I think it was the first game I have seen in the series where I didn't leave the game thinking about the officiating.

The Cru lines just dominated and the secondary gave up a few long bombs, but they also made some really good plays on the ball (including 3 picks).

Kudos to Wilson, Bailey, and Daniels for their 190, 138, and 96 yards respectively. and to the QBs for taking enough shots and completing enough passes to keep HSU honest.

I was impressed by some of what I saw in Bailey other than his running.  You can tell he is growing into the position, and it makes me excited for the future.

I do not want to look up the stats.  I want an eye witness POV.

How does UMHB pass now?

Did Feaster have the time he needed despite trailing?

How is Quincy running (health)?

Thanks.

I was at the game and will say that UMHB's passing attack wasn't great but was vastly improved over last week.  Noak was 4 of 5, but the 1 incompletion was an int that missed the mark by a big margin.  Bailey was something like 4 of 15, but he went down field enough to keep HSU honest, he threw to multiple receivers, and he threw more than just long fade routes.  I liked what I saw from the passing game, and I think that as time goes on Bailey will become more of a threat.

Feaster had the time he needed for the most part, but he was under pressure a lot.

Quincy ran the ball well.  he had 96 net yards rushing, but Darius Wilson ran the ball ridiculously well.  He went off for 190 yards.  and Bailey rushed for 137 or something close.  Of course I think I could have run through some of the holes opened by the Oline.

I was at the game last night and PASS should be a 4 letter word for the Cru.  Both UMHB scoring drives in the 2nd half had no pass plays.  They crammed the ball down HSU and had their defense tired.  Their pass plays were deep and in my opinion low percentage plays.  I like how UMHB can just pound the ball.

What did UMHB sort out against McMurry to beat HSU in the way that they did?

If McMurry had better special teams play, we were looking at a different outcome.

As for conference balance, it appears to be here, again.

I am by no means an expert on offensive or defensive line play but to me the difference was either the UMHB lines majorly stepped up from last week against McMurry or McMurry lines are better than HSU's and we capitalized on it.

I'd say part of the difference is that Jake Mullin can throw farther and the wide receivers for McM are faster.  On a few occasions Mullin threw it past everyone and the receivers just ran away from the DBs.  Even with that,  UMHB had Mullin running all night.

The other thing that I think was different was that UMHB came out and completed a few passes and they kept throwing the ball down field so HSU wasn't able to stack the box like McM did and the Oline was opening huge holes for the RBs and Bailey.

I saw you run past on the steps and never saw you again to say hi.  I like the way the Cru ran the ball last night, but after watching the McM game they have to be able to throw and make a few catches.  McM stacked the box like MC did last and pretty well stopped the run.  HSU couldn't do that last night because UMHB actually had some success.  They don't have to have much, but it at least has to be a realistic threat.

Toby,
I agree with the Cru needing to throw the ball some, but they don't have to be deep throws and fades.  They were successful with quick passes.  They way they run the ball, play action should be very effective.  UMHB has always been successful with a run first mentality.  Last night we drove inside the HSU 30 out of the I and then for some unknown reason we got in the pistol and the drive stalled.  The RBs are very talented and we should ride them as much as possible.  It also makes Bailey much more effective.
