Which ETBU team will show up next week?

labart96

We at "In the HuddLLe" (www.inthehuddLLe.com) are very excited to announce a very special guest coming onto the show this Sunday at 7:30 PM ET!!!

We will be welcoming Dr. Tony Strickland of the David Geffenn School of Medicine at UCLA and the Sports Concussion Institute (http://www.concussiontreatment.com/).

Dr Strickland has recently appearred on both ESPN's Outside the Lines and the NFL Network to discuss concussions and the work SCI has done in the diagnosis and treatment of the same.

Dr. Strickland has requested we encourage fans, players and otherwise interested parties to please dial into the show to ask their questions.  That said we would like to solicit you to call in and drive the dialogue with Dr. Strickland given the prominence of this topic in the national headlines.   Our switchboard line is 646-200-0576.

Again the date of his appearance will be tonight Sunday, Oct 24 at 7:30 PM ET.

Thanks in advance your assistance in making this special opportunity to get a refreshing and informed perspective on this nationally relevant topic!

What's this?  A sizeable article about a D3 football program in the Austin Daily Texan American-Statesman?

Yep, today's rag has a story featuring Hardin-Simmons ... because of a connection to UT:  The McCoy Texas fans don't know about.   Yes, it's the story of Colt McCoy's little brother Chance, who transferred to HSU after a year at Abilene Christian.   Still, given the way the A-AS (like every other large newpaper in the state) ignores D3, you take what you can get.

thanks for the link Ron.  ood article.
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

Ron,

Thanks for the link. You're right Toby that is an odd article. Sort of back handed if you ask me. I'm glad to see Chance playing at HSU. I think you'll hear more from him in the years to come. If coach K says he knows the game. Then the he knows the game.

Are we looking at another 1st round game between UMHB and HSU?  Assuming HSU beats McM.  If McM wins, what does that do for their chances.?

With 2 loses at best, I don't see how McMurry could get an invitation to the dance but they could really throw a wrench in the playoff plans of HSU.

Speaking of McMurry, I guess they are looking to pick a new mascot.  http://www.reporternews.com/news/2010/oct/22/no-headline---mcmurry_mascot/?partner=RSS

No need to assume.  HSU will continue to own Abilene.  I hope to see another match up with HSU and Mary Baylor.

AsI wrote elsewhere, this is Game #18 under Coach Mumme's system... the Air Raid offense, the 3-3-5 defense.

The players should be getting into the system nicely by now.

Ralph,

I think you are spot on. This weekend should be a good test for both teams. Whoever wins i don't think will win by a large margin. McM has come a long way!

Good Luck.  HSU's O Line will dominate as it always does.  Break Their Will!

Before we give HSU and UMHB the first-round matchup, let's wait and see what LC can do when the play the last week of the season.

I believe that LC can only knock HSU out of the playoffs.

I do not think that they can earn a Pool C bid.

You are right, Ralph. If LC wins out, the Wildcats will finish at 7-3, with two D3 losses and one to NAIA Belhaven. No way the Cats get a Pool C bid. The last two games of the season for LC will be interesting. The Cats are on the road against McMurry on Nov. 6 and home against HSU on Nov. 13. Both could/should be wild shoot-outs that go down to the wire.

I do think an LC win over HSU would remove the Cowboys from the playoff picture. First things first, however, the Cats need to take care of TLU at home this Saturday.

I'm not sure that LC gets past McM.  Do the wildcats have a legitimate shot at beating either McM or HSU? The margins of victory against common opponents and past experience seems to suggest that it will be a good football game but LC is not going to see a victory. I personally hope the NCAA splits the ever popular ASC first round and gives both teams representing the conference a shot at different regions. What is the likelyhood that the NCAA would send HSU, LC, McM (insert team of your choice) with a pool C to another region for the playoffs?
