Does anybody know if the Temple Daily Telegram is correct in saying that if UMHB wins against Wesley they would host no matter if Whitewater or North Central wins. I know we would host if UW-W wins but since North Central is a #1 seed I would have thought they would host unless seeds go out the window for the semi's.

Pat Coleman

I don't believe that's correct. A No. 1 seed would host the No. 2 from another bracket. As always ... at least other than the secret closed-door seedings season of 2009 ... the overall seeding only comes into play when the brackets' seeds are equal.

Thanks Pat, I figured that was the case but I was hoping in case we win and so does North Central.

Also I wanted to congratulate Jerrell Freeman again on his effort in the CFL. His team lost for the 2nd straight year in the Grey Cup but he led the team in tackles again and had a sack in the game.

This Saturday's game between Wesley and UMHB should be a corker!!!  I've been to Delaware at this time of year and it isn't pretty.  The weather nor the team.  I think it will be a hard-fought game and whoever wins will really have deserved to win.  What I hope (because I can be oh so selfish) is that both Roocru and his family and Wesleydad and his family will both be with us at the Stagg.  But neither of you all bring that *&^$#^(__snow, please!! I had enough of that last year to last a lifetime!!!  Love, Oline Mom. :)To try and be non-partial, I went with BC colors

umhb2001, where did i say umhb has no chance?  all i did was comment about how wesley is playing at this time as a response to several posts that made it sound as if umhb is playing much better than they were earlier in the year.  as someone who has seen umhb play 3 times, i am well aware of their abilities and how good they are likely to be.  i still stand by my statement that it will take an excellent effort by someone to beat wesley if wesley plays a clean game.  i did not say that umhb could not do that, maybe they can, but that is what it will take to beat wesley.  I am sure that you feel the same way about anyone beating umhb, but i would not take that as saying wesley has no chance.  i know toby, roocru, and a couple of others from umhb and i have been following their posts this year.  toby has mentioned that umhb is improved from the beginning of the year and since i respect his opinion having talked to him for a couple of years now then i expect a great football game if both teams play at the level they are playing at now.

I said you make it sound as if we have no chance. I realize I probably am a homer sometimes, but that is how it is I guess. Yes, Our D is playing much better, but this will be our greatest test. I feel that this is our most explosive team we have had, and one with great potential. I'll be in New Braunfels, TX, for a tennis coach's convention, so hopefully I'll be able to keep up with the game. If you know anyone on Twitter, or if anyone else is or knows someone on Twitter, who will be at the game, let me know so I can follow them.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I've seen UMHB twice this season - against Louisiana College & against Thomas More. Based on what I've seen I have a couple of observations: 1) While the CRU game plan to run the ball - and then run it some more, UMHB is anything but one dimensional. In my opinion, this may be the most potent passing attack the CRU has ever put on the field. Johnson (6'5") and Davis (6'6") are athletic and will make catches and Davis is capable of doing significant damage after the catch. Baily has good scrambling/running ability. Load the box on the CRU this year and UMHB will make you pay. 2) It seems to me the key to UMHB pass defense is putting pressure on the QB. Against LC, the CRU rarely blitzed and had trouble stopping the Wildcat offense, but then no one, and I mean no one, stopped the LC offense this year. However, UMHB did hold LC below it's per game scoring average. Against Thomas More the CRU blitzed more often - it could be there's a growing confidence in the DBs to handle man coverage - and the Saints QB was under constant pressure.

Should a good one in Delaware on Saturday. Let's hope the weather is not too much of a factor.

The temple paper has an article about the game Saturday noting that in four games UMHB and Wesley are 2-2 with only 10 yds of total offense separating them.  Each team has won 1 home game and 1 away game, and only 25 points separate their point totals, most of which are from a lopsided Wesley loss in 2008.  If this game holds to form it should be an amazing game.  unfortunately, I will be working from 12-3 so I will only get to watch the first hour or so (unless its a slow morning and we can watch at work).

Early forecast for Dover on Saturday:  PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 40S. OVERNIGHT: MOSTLY CLOUDY. LOWS IN THE LOWER 30S.

With re the Temple paper saying UMHB would host, if they're fortunate enough to come away with a win:  they probably figure the chance of North Central beating UW-W is close to zero like most of us here.   ;)

Adding to the early weather forecast, Weather Underground predicts the wind on Saturday to be blowing out of the North/Northwest at 12 miles per hour.

Kelly, if it is only blowing 12 mph, then it will seem like nothing compared to the last 2 weeks of steady 20+ with gusts in the 30's.  watching balls go up and stop, then change direction was interesting.  it will be cold though.

Well it will really show the gap if UW-W can beat the #4 team with their back up QB.

The TDT again said in today's article that the winner of the UMHB-Wesley game will host UW-W or NC  ???

Looks like Blanchard (our starting QB) is ready to go saturday, not counting any big setbacks in practice this week.

Wesley will have the home game no matter what. but if MHB wins, they will only have a home game if UWW pulls off this upset  (;)), i think...b/c the south is a the higher ranked bracket. But MHB will travel to NCC if NCC wins.
