End of the 3rd, Wesley 19 UMHB 3.

UMHB has had several miscues in the 3rd. They have a delay of the game at 4th and goal from the 1. They take a timeout with 11 seconds left in the 3rd with 6 secs left on the play clock. (You cannot count on a player to pick up the blocked punt on the run, but Bailey fumbles later in the possession, another missed opportunity.) There are the 2 TD's that would have brought the CRU back into the game.

Wesley has some WR's like we see in the ASC, e.g., McMurry's RJ Long and and Marcus Franklin and Louisiana College's Jordan Rideaux and Darnell Williams.

Time of possession at the end of 3rd quarter -- Wesley 29:18 UMHB 15:42.

Unacceptable play today. This team should be disgusted and angry. Horrible way to end the season. Congrats Wesley, but we can't expect to win when we play that way. Really frustrating. Just can't win the big game. I know I may get reamed for this post, but just really frustrated. I know the kids are too, but this is just not what this team was capable of.

UMHB didn't play very well today...specifically on offens. However, the Wesley D needs to be given credit they look legit!

Wesley also did a nice job of ball control with TOP being more than 15 minutes better than UMHB. Best way to keep a scoring team from scoring is to not let them have the ball and Wesley did that today.

Like UMHB has HSU's number, I think Wesley has UMHB's number. Too bad. Another disappointing end to UMHB's season. It looked like UMHB was pretty unstoppable.

Congratulations to the Crusaders for a great season. Your defense was pretty good today. I'm sure we'll see you guys next year, this time.

p.s. Your mascot was going to town the whole 60 minutes. I have never seen a mascot so into his role!!!!

My parents told me once to never say anything in anger that I would regret later. Why can't you be just a little happy to be 12-1 and one of the Great 8 and save posts like this, where you denigrate this exceptional team, to a later date? The team feels a lot worse than you do I am sure, but, they took time to shake hands and pray with the opposing team after the game. I get so tired of that cliche "can't win the big one." Reminds me of what everyone said about Tom Landry until he had his consecutive runs to the Super Bowl. Save your frustration to a time where you can cool off. I think the team is handling this in a much more mature fashion than you are.

I for one am exceptionally proud of the Cru's efforts to get to this game and the determination they showed while playing it! Congratulations to the team, coaches and staff for another great season!!!

Congrats to the Cru on another great season, maybe I am crazy and don't have high enough standards but I can't be that upset with a 12-1 season that ended in the quarter finals. Would I love to see the Cru in Salem, yes but there are 230 teams in D3 that would have gladly changed places with us.

He is great and has been that way all season and last season.

I wouldn't go that far considering UMHB had beat Wesley the last 2 times they have faced before this game in 2007 and 2008. The series is now 3-2 in favor of Wesley

I think it's ok to be frustrated. I think they too would say tatthey didn't playbto what they are capable of. I agree, we had a great season, but like Her Edwards said, you play towin the game. I know they played hard, I know they are upset, more so than I am, and I'll be the first one to root them on next season, but I still thank it's ok to be frustrated. Are you saying you've never once been frustrated? I love the guys and want them to keep their heads high and come back strong.

Thanks for calling me immature though, cause that's a little harsh. Sorry i offended you, but again, I think it's ok to be frustrated.

umhb2001, if you were at the game, there was nothing wrong with the umhb effort. they were overwelmed by wesley's defense. the o only had one drive of any significance. wesley stopped the run, and the passing game is not that good. the receivers didnt look like they wanted the ball and the qb is ok at best when throwing. i was also surprised by how weak the option looked, very sloppy on the pitches and the qb didnt look like he wanted to run. another thing that was odd to us as we were tailgating before the game, umhb did not arrive at the field until 1100, at least a half an hour after the other away teams have arrived the past 2 weeks. an effort to stay warm?

LB has been great throwing the ball the last few weeks and the WR's have also been working well together. The passing game has really developed this year.

Again, I'm sorry for making it sound like I'm pilling on the team, but this team is good, we are a powerful team, and we have done so much. The players coming back next year, I hope, will step up and really put a spark into the younger players and get them ready to play cause we can be THAT team. We just need to keep working.
