Time for UMHB to make a move to Division II ;)

What would be the benefit to UMHB to move to D2?  That is a pretty expensive proposition.

Congratulations to Louisiana College's Ben McLaughlin for being named the 2010 Melberger Award winner:

Congratulations to Ben McLaughlin.  The award has lost much of its luster and they even let their domain lapse (go to http://www.melbergeraward.com/ and see what you get [SFW I think since I don't read what appears to be Chinese]).

That said it does seem as if they have righted the ship and have given the award to deserving recipients (like Ben) the last few seasons.   Hopefully the trend continues.

This may not be the place, (neither Pat Coleman/D3football.com or the Gagliardi people might have the inclination), but I wish that the Melberger Award would "affiliate" with a "bigger, stronger" partner.

D-1 has all of those awards that are spread all over everywhere.  Fort Worth, Tx has the Davey O'Brien and Dallas has the Doak Walker, and that is just the awards in Texas.

D3 could handle several of these awards.  Maybe the Melberger people have reclaimed its mission.

Pat Coleman

The Wilkes-Barre Touchdown Club has selected a reasonable player of the year for a couple years now. But unless they put in a formal nomination process and go back to using a national voting committee, that's all it is, a local thing.

Ralph,

Maybe we could start the D3boards.com National Player Of The Year Award (or just call it the "Kehres Trophy")?    Since we have such a well versed and diverse cross section of fans (who probably are better schooled than most local media members that cover D3), who better than to name a National POY?  :D

What conference will McMurry be joining?

And as of someone replacing them in the ASC, isn't UNO adding football?

UNO is considering going to D-2 and not adding football, now.
