I'd agree with Ralph. Some could even say the rest of us are just playing for a share of the title. And with the addition of that stadium down there I don't see that changing. As if the perennial powerhouse status wasn't enough, state of the art facilities now too.

That being said the conference is leveling out and when we send multiple opponents to the playoffs they tend to do well.

tigerkat...you do realize UMHB has ATLEAST shared the conference title for who knows how many years now, i've lost count.  Just calm down, if ETBU is going to be as good as you say they are (even though you havent really given any reasons you just blast your mouth off) let the boys on the field do that talking with W's.  Because as it stands, ETBU is just a 5-5 team that plays well at home against everybody, and struggles on the road against everybody.  When they run the tables and are outright champs, feel free to come talking on here, but until then just chill.

As a UMHB alumnus I hope you are correct, but i also know that it wasn't too long ago that HSU sat atop the heap. UMHB built a program that was able to wrestle the reigns from HSU and now they are in everyone's sights. I think that's a good thing. I think it has raised the level of competition in the league and I'm in favor of the league getting progressively stronger. I just wish there was something that could be done about the geographic isolation so that the league could really make an impact.

And tigerkat you sound like TLUGoat did in 2007, came in here talking about how they had some great recruits coming in (including him) and they were going to take over the ASC.  Well they ended up going 2-8 for the year.

And speaking of the truth, the only truth we have to go on right now is the past since we are still sadly months away from real action. And the truth is ETBU went 0-3 against the top 3 teams last year and 2 of those loses weren't close.

Tigerkat....Im speaking for your sake. I too am confident we will have a strong season (or rather that we have some things in the program that have us looking upwards) but to go straight at UMHB is a little harsh, especially seeing as we have to go to Belton this year.

Haha..We sound like Jerry Jones and the cowboys of the early to mid 90's that's funny.  Tigerkat you have lots of bravado.  I like it.  Spicing things up in march and fueling conversation long before football season starts.  I think the UMHB fans have reason to talk and be confident.  We have been at the top since 2001.  That's not just a good freshmen class of recruits.  That's year after year solid recuiting and solid play on the field.  There is a solid foundation for us to speak upon.  I hope your team can back your mouth up.  Let's get this season started!

Dont speak for my sake......if you dont think you or the team can get it done.....get out of the way and dont say a word...I certainly dont need anyone to tell me who to go after or not....Merry Hardly Baylor has been Queen of the Hill for too long....the time of reckoning has come and well......things are about to change...when you have been at the top for awhile, just know that the target is on their back....they have more to lose and if you just sit their with that "bully in the playground" arrogance that "nobody can touch me", then thats when the house of cards fall in a hurry.....Merry Hardly Baylor will be tested by not only the up and coming program in ETBU but in all honesty,  McMurry is the team to watch....do I expect a tough fought game... YES, do I expect the tradition to be of value..YES .....are the Merry's a very good program...YES.....Should anyone fear them in their confines....HECK NO!  Thats why you play the game......I do respect the program and we had close ties with them....but in the End the stripped Blue and Gold won out and thus, thats where the allegiance lies.......is the purpose of this message board to kiss the rings of all the winning teams in the past?  IF so, count me out of this little peice of heaven.....Now, going at other D3 schools should be fun, the real problem I have is the arrogance of D2 schools, especially those that took shots at the D3 schools that were in contact with us....Each team will have some great football players and I will be looking forward to that!
Quit looking to the past to tell me what happened the future is now and in D3 football ETBU will have a lot to say about the complexion of the ASC!

i'm glad you have the confidence to speak highly of your program. I'm glad things are looking up for ETBU. I have many friends that are ETBU alumns, but don't be surprised if you and your banter get dismissed by the board regulars because we've heard the bravado before and we've seen the bravado fade when the team being announced as the next great thing gets smoked by one of the teams traditionally hanging out at the top of the pack. The past may not be important to you, but I promise you the pride in that history is important to the Cru and to the Cowboys, and they will fight to maintain it.  ETBU played well last year and I hope they continue to play well, but I'll keep from crowning them king until they find away to get to the top and stay there.The teams at the top recruit well, they are well coached, and they carry tradition with them. Don't expect anyone to lay down for the Tigers.

So ASC fans,with the addition of Centenary to the conference is it impossible to think they will add football in a few years? If so, what does that do to the conference schedules? 9 Conference games?
