HSU just posted a video highlight of the football team's offseason program. There's alot of guys pushing some big weight. HSU's Derrick Grant squatted 600lbs at a body weight of 176. Pretty impressive stuff.

There is some pretty impressive stuff in the video...however the depth of the squats leaves a lot to be desired. Im pretty sure I could add about 50-75 pounds on my squat max as well. (puts me about 375 and I weigh 155) haha. Anyways but the bench and clean shots are pretty cool.

ETBU unveils new "universal" athletic logo for all sports. As many know ETBU has had no real sports logo for its teams. The ETBU stylized in lowercase letters was the only logo the university had. The logo was released late this week and will take effect for all sports beginning immediately. Here are some examples of the new logo.

ETBU also posted our spring competition and 7-on-7 compilation onto YouTube. Check it out!

Received information on Facebook that Jon Wallin, SID at UMHB, suffered a hemorrhagic stroke Friday evening.  He is in hospital in Temple and is doing better but still needs our prayers!

Best wishes to the Wallen and UMHB families.

On a lighter note Ive noticed from some of the other boards that many schools are bragging about their commits. So here are a few ETBU commits. **Ill edit more tomorrow** This happens to be the only one I remember shaking the hand of.

Found a nice article on-line about HSU's Lineman Challenge that Coach Burleson puts on for local high-school squads to come compete at.

thats going to be pretty close to what the rankings are like come September.  Just out of curiosity, do you guys think ETBU will move into top 25 if they go to Wesley and knock them off in the season opener?

Just guessing, I think that ETBU can jump 15 slots over their pre-season "Kickoff" ranking with a win over Wesley.

I am waiting for Kickoff to come out in late August to see how strong they thing that ETBU is.

I would think that it would take a large margin of victory over Wesley in order for ETBU to jump into the top 25. However if they can pull the upset and win a few more game by good margins than they will move into the rankings pretty quickly.

Thanks for answerin guys.  I was just curious as to how the rankings would be affected by a top 5 team getting knocked off by an unranked team.  I just don't recall it happening in d3, and if it has I can't remember how the rankings turned out.  As for ETBU's chances, the get top 5 wesley followed by Austin College, Texas Lutheran and @ McMurry before top 20 Hardin Simmons comes knocking.  If ETBU finds a way to navigate that successfully then i would think a top 25 ranking would be as close to a lock as you can get.  (All of this is just hypothetical of course, we all know rankings aren't a huge part of the game, its just fun to see the team you root for get some love.)

If I was gonna guess I'd say ETBU is going to be ranked anywhere from 50-75? Thats just a stab in the dark because I can't recall where kickoff had them slotted at the beginning of last year.  I would think they are going to get atleast a little love because they've got 17 starters returning and ended the year winning 3 of 4 with the 1 loss being to UMHB in overtime.
