Cru O looked great today, and the big stat...not INT's! Lidarral Bailey was good enough when he had to be and didn't turn it over. The running game looks really strong as well.

The ETBU O was amazing, and Harris is legit. Guy had me scared. He is slippery up the gut when he runs, like a  Tasmanian devil out there spinning everywhere. But, the team made some changes at the half and put the clamps down in the second frame.

Things should play out nicely for the Cru.

I was at the game in Belton and Sed Harris was a beast today! He was directly resposible for all but 78 of the 485 yards gained by ETBU in today's game. ETBU had a nice package on its zone read today using motion and formations that was really putting the outside lb's in a real bind in the first half.  In the second half UMHB played more cover 2 with a mix of zone, man and some inverted coverage that helped to slow Harris down some.  My hat is off to him! Without his play ETBU would not have had a chance.
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Any comments/complaints about HSU running up the score?  They just beat TLU by a bigger margin than McMurry did!  ;D
Looking at the play by play, HSU's starting QB and RB were pulled after one drive in the 4th Qtr. Of course their Back up used to be the starting QB so it really wasn't much of a drop off.

I can't wait til next weekend.  HSU @ McM.  GOTW Ralph?

mcmfan -- Fair question. HSU played 3 QB's. As Mr. Taff posted, #1 was pulled after one dive in 4th Q, but overlooked is that the #3 QB had already played by then. Those aspects look pretty different than what McM did last week.
Not really a bad dog. Just misunderstood!

The showed highlights on the news last night of J.P. Tillman running the ball. Seriously? A 6'5" 270+ lb QB with speed? That didn't even look right.

Toby, How do you see HSU-McM?  HSU's win this weekend has to be a big boost going into next weeks game.  Also, when was the last time McM beat HSU?

I don't think McM has beat HSU since they both restarted football, and as much as I hate to say it, this could be the year. On the face of it, I don't think HSU can stop the passing game of McM, and McMs defense is good enough to win a shoot out. Of course my master degree says "GO COWBOYS"

No turnovers by the Cru in the past 2 weeks.  5 TD passes.  555 yards rushing and 395 yards passing.  Also, there have been many more explosive plays.  Glad to see them back in a familiar offense.  ;)

Let's play Jeopardy.

The Category is: Presidents of the US

JFK

The Question is:

Who was president the last time that McMurry defeated HSU?

You say that with a hint of sarcasm haha

In a seriousness ETBU played about as good a half as they have played all year in the 1st against UMHB and the wheels just fell off in the 2nd half.  The turning point of the ball game came when UMHB took a 31-24 lead and then recovered a freak play on the kickoff and scored the next play to make it 38-24.  On that particular play the ball had already cleared the last line before the actual returners so they naturally let it go and started their blocking assignments.  Problem is the wind (which was constant all day long straight down the field) grabbed the ball and i swear to you that ball came back 15-20 yards towards the kicker.  Anyways ETBU's returner was at a full sprint and got to the ball just after it hit the ground and he wound up getting tattooed just as he was grabbing it and UMHB recovered.  That put blood in the water for UMHB and they acted like hungry sharks, as they blocked a punt the next possession and made it 45-24 before ETBU knew what had hit them.  Call me a homer or whatever but I feel like ETBU still had a realistic chance until that play.  They had answered after UMHB returned the opening kickoff of the half for a TD and the offense had shown no signs of being stopped up to that point.  You could just see the air disappearing off the ETBU sideline.

I thought ETBU had a great game plan offensively.  I've said all along that they weren't going to win many games throwing the ball 50 times with Harris, and they have finally seemed to figure that out.  I think he rushed for 290 yards Saturday and 75% of that was off of the different variations of the zone read.  The other 25% came off of him tucking it on passing plays and making something happen.  I thought he had a open receivers on some of those but I can't argue with his decisions because he gave the Tigers a chance to win and thats all one can ask for.

Sed Harris did have a great game and I credit him for putting a scare into UMHB. Seemed liked he got banged up as the game went on and was even carried off the field before the end. Hope he was ok and can finish off his senior year strong.

Wind on a kickoff?

Sound like the UWW-UMHB Semifinals game in Belton in 2008.

Wasn't that bad Ralph but it was very windy. I was very surprised that both teams seemed to be fooled by the wind even though it was constantly blowing the whole game.

Doesn't make much sense to me why UMHB continues to lose ground behind St. Thomas in the Top 25.

Well, it appears that one voter thought that the Tommies win over Bethel was more impressive than UMHB's win over ETBU and flipped them on his ballot.
