McM Blue Devil

I am reading different opinions on different boards.  So my question is this?  If McM wins this weekend is there any way that DON"T get a bid?  Or is a forgone conclusion that with a win they are in?

D3Keith wrote in his around the nation column today about three different scenarios for the South. McMurry was in all three.

McM is essentially a one loss team for D3 tournament purposes. They are regionally ranked fairly high, and their one loss is to a quality opponent by a very good (for McM) score. Those three factors should see them make the field as a Pool C. It would be interesting to know if Centre or McM will hit the board first for the Pool C discussion. Based on the current Regional Rankings, it should be McM which would bode extremely well. While never a foregone conclusion, a win this weekend should see McM in and helping to fill out a Texas sub-bracket, should the committee go in that direction.

I think you're going to see exactly that with, in my opinion and looking at the Regional Rankings and SOS of likely South teams, (8) CNU at (1) UMHB and (5) McM at (4) Trinity. There are a lot of other options for the (8), especially if TMC or H-SC lose this weekend, but unless the committee scraps the general makeup of the South and bundles up a Texas/Far West bracket, the traditional Texas sub-bracket makes too much sense.

I would like to express my humble gratitude and profound admiration for all veterans of our armed forces on this special day.  My prayers are with you all!
Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

None of this happens unless we beat Mississippi College tomorrow!  I hope no one on the team is taking a victory for granted, for that's the best way to make sure that it doesn't happen.  Go Warhawks!

Mission accomplished.

McMurry will renovate the Wilford Moore Stadium this off-season.  This is a $2.2 million upgrade.

Construction will begin ASAP.

I doubt that the projected bracket is correct with McMurry heading west. I think that they will have McM and Trinity play and then send that winner to UMHB.

I hope UMHB keeps winning and I can go support them down in Salem.

We were going on the road anyway. I was hoping for a trip to Trinity  where we have a huge fan base from San Antonio and Houston, and then another trip back to UMHB!

If McMurry makes the Stagg Bowl, they might have the record for miles traveled in the Football championships...

1) Linfield   1889 miles
2) southern California  (Cal LUtheran is 1289 miles away. Redlands is 1181 miles.)
3) St Thomas  1083 miles
4) Whitewater   1131 miles
5) Stagg Bowl   1275 miles to Roanoke.

More than 6500 miles, one-way.  13000 miles round trip or halfway around the world.

McM Blue Devil is sweating the brackets...

What shade of maroon will he bleed on Saturday?  ;)

Since we all know how much the NCAA wants to save money in the travel costs for the playoffs, wouldn't the cheapest thing be to have Trinity play UMHB in the first round and just not give a bid to McMurry at all?  This wouldn't be the first time that a good #2 team in a conference didn't get a bid...   :-[

They don't select teams based on $$. They only seed them based on $$. McMurry is getting in.

Gig Harbor Cat

McMurry, will be heading west to The Catdome to face Linfield

Then who, in your mind, plays Linfield? And who plays UMHB? And how do you do that without a second flight being required?

Point taken Pat. I just know from experience playing that we were always part of the "Sub-Bracket".
